There is a terrible amount of feral (terribly aggressive and wild) cats that live in my block. I've talked to neighbors and most people estimate somewhere near 20 feral cats.
I haven't had a problem with these cats until recent, when a pregnant cat had a litter in my yard. The 6 kittens that resulted are very aggressive and will not relent from leaving all kinds of bird and mouse carcasses on my porch.
I've been looking for a solution for some time now, since they show no sign of leaving.
Things i've tried:
Moth balls-lounged among them
Plants that 'repel' cats-lounged among them
Other pungent things-same as above
Spraying with water-leaves for about a minute, then comes back
Animal control will euthanize them no doubt, which will make the person who calls control feel terrible and guilty.
The local humane society does not take 'pets', so that's out of the question.
I need an inexpensive and practical way of repelling them without hurting the cats.
Help me, Facepunch!
Get a big dog?

Maybe you could get one of those motion activated Halloween decorations to scare them off. One of the cats walks by it on your porch, it starts making noise, lighting up and shaking, should do the trick. Whether or not they decide it's not a threat is hard to tell but it's worth a shot, at least it does it's job without you having to be there.
You should get an animal trap like this. Put canned tuna, sardines, or cat food in it. Then once you catch a cat take it to the dog pound.

Probably doesn't work for cats but my mom had a problem with foxes in her back garden. I went out and pissed all over the place and now no more foxes.
Pretty sure it has to be a male's piss to work.
i never knew you had the piss of a wolf

Sir... that is just the most funniest thing I've ever heard!
Congrats.. you earn CAIK
Ask your parents if you can buy an air rifle? / Buy one .....
Have a bonding session with dad and a few cans or beer. Never know you may get a new hat out of it :D
Borrow the bolt action spud gun from fellow FP'er nascarbasket
He's already said he doesn't want to hurt them. Read the full OP before posting.
Personally I shoot them too, feral cats do far more damage than just pissing on everything, and eventually they meet a horrible end at the side of a road so a bullet tends to be a lot better than dying of internal bleeding or thirst because all your legs are broken.
I've shot two cats on the road behind my house after they were hit by a car before, no telling how long they were there before I found them but they were beyond help.

That's a damn good idea.
Going outside to claim my territory.
I've heard reflective surfaces can scare off cats for whatever reason. Inexpensively, hang up some cheap CDs around your yard.

A motion activated water sprinkler might help.
Feral druids are a pain, I feel you.
Sack + car exhaust.
The only good feral cat is a dead feral cat.

So, did that work?

That's a very creative excuse for pissing all over your mom's garden, seriously.

by that logic we should kill anything not domesticated..which we are doing inadvertently but shut up killing cats is not cool :(
Feral cats in urban environments are pests and spread disease.
make a big cage with chicken wire and then put a one way door in it and put in tuna
make sure it has a bottom and a top
use your or rent a pickup truck and release them into the wild
Put a big sign saying no cats allowed?
But on a serious note, perhaps you could make a cactus barrier. cats can't climb cactus
#1 way of removing feral cats: cactus wall
You really should either call animal control or shoot them. Contrary to popular belief, cats are as filthy as any other creature and feral cats tend to be hilariously inbred to boot, and this is sometimes a part of why they're aggressive. Not only that, but cats will spread disease to other cats and can carry other illnesses for other animals that aren't too fun. Yes, it's sad to have to cull them, but it's for the good of everybody and everything. It's one of those hard choices the DNR, animal control and other organizations have to make.
Welcome to to the wonderful world of wildlife management!
Have you tried auditory repellents?
You need to do this:

And film it!
Cayenne pepper. Cats hate it. Sprinkle it around to make a barrier where you don't want them to go.
get a .22
The obvious solution is to get a pack of feral dogs to roam your yard. I'm sure you could get a good deal from Russia or Ukraine.
land mines
air rifle
