http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/2011/feb/08/saudi-oil-reserves-overstated-wikileaks
The US fears that Saudi Arabia, the world's largest crude oil exporter, may not have enough reserves to prevent oil prices escalating, confidential cables from its embassy in Riyadh show. The cables, released by WikiLeaks, urge Washington to take seriously a warning from a senior Saudi government oil executive that the kingdom's crude oil reserves may have been overstated by as much as 300bn barrels – nearly 40%. The revelation comes as the oil price has soared in recent weeks to more than $100 a barrel on global demand and tensions in the Middle East. Many analysts expect that the Saudis and their Opec cartel partners would pump more oil if rising prices threatened to choke off demand. However, Sadad al-Husseini, a geologist and former head of exploration at the Saudi oil monopoly Aramco, met the US consul general in Riyadh in November 2007 and told the US diplomat that Aramco's 12.5m barrel-a-day capacity needed to keep a lid on prices could not be reached. According to the cables, which date between 2007-09, Husseini said Saudi Arabia might reach an output of 12m barrels a day in 10 years but before then – possibly as early as 2012 – global oil production would have hit its highest point. This crunch point is known as "peak oil". We're already sucking on the busty tits of Venezeula and Canada. Do we need more tits?
we need the titties of solar power
Make more..oil?
we need the titties of solar power
But those tits are small though. :saddowns:
Claim the Arabs are hoarding oil. Use for springboard into power. ?????? Profit.
We need spaceships so we can do Deep-Space Mining then pick up artifacts from other planets and turn into zombiefucks then die. Only then will the Oil crisis be solved.
Better start building giant treadmills for orphans
Looks like it's about time to invade Canada.
You need our expertise to get our oil, we have cleverly hid it all in the sand.
turn the saudis into oil
But those tits are small though. :saddowns:
We need more money and time before we can get those great big fusion titties too.
It's remarkable to think about how in geologic time things take forever. How long does it take a glacier to slice through a mountain? But somehow we humans have managed to burn through oil that took eons to form, and we did it in less than time than the United States has existed. One thing is for sure, when the collapse comes it's going to be specatcular!

needs big nuclear and hydroelectric tittays
Can't wait for the crisis to escalate. This is getting fun.
GOOD THING GUNS DON'T TAKE OIL /c
How not? Other than lubricating oil, a hell of alot of energy is needed in the manufacture of a weapon.. which comes from oil. Let's get using the Alberta Tar Sands for oil! 1 trillion barrels, fuck yes!
The problem is, that the Saudi oil fields cannot yield more oil. Not that they're running out. They've reached their peak and will begin a long and gradual decline.
GOOD THING GUNS DON'T TAKE OIL /c
How are you going to get the guns, and troops to use them, where you need them without lots and lots of fuel?
We may have lots of oil in canada but its all sandy. The dirtiest kind of oil to get out. We also don't use any methods to make the process any cleaner because we love money, enjoy your pollution world.
We're already sucking on the busty tits of Venezeula and Canada. Do we need more tits?
absolutely :canada::sonia:
we need the titties of solar power
Solar power is not a viable alternative to oil should we make a complete switchover. You would need solar panels hundreds of cubic miles in area to make up for a single power plant powered by oil.
Solar power is not a viable alternative to oil should we make a complete switchover. You would need solar panels hundreds of cubic miles in area to make up for a single power plant powered by oil.
Efficiency with panels will go up in a few years
Efficiency with panels will go up in a few years
Not enough to outweigh it's numerous disadvantages, namely the reduction in power produced if you live anywhere not equatorial. That being said, if it's sunny, shove a couple hundred giant solar panels there, certainly. Scotland is fucked, for sure.

Surely the government should regulate that? Thorium molten salt reactors, fuck yeah!
Drill the oceans floor... AGAIN!
The sooner we start using other forms of renewable efficient energy the better i say.
Frankly, i wish it would hurry up and run out so all the oil companies will collapse and people are forced onto a better energy source. Unfortunately by then emissions are likely to have taken a greater toll.
we need the titties of solar power
Nuclear would be better, since solar panel is basically like harvesting power from a nuclear reactor 150 million kilometers away.
