Rise Against (The best band you never heard of)

Tim McIlrath – lead vocals, rhythm guitar and lead guitar (since 1999)
Joe Principe – bass guitar, backing vocals (since 1999)
Brandon Barnes – drums, percussion (since 2000)
Zach Blair – lead guitar, backing vocals (since 2007)

Rise Against is pretty awesome. Aside from their songs being great, each one has a special meaning. I just discovered them about a year ago and I thought I'd share them with you.

Rise Against is Pop Punk, they're also not that great, and they're really popular.

Best band you never heard of is probably "Television", just my opinion though.

I think OP is one of the people that only just found out about anything less than completely mainstream. This is the only way I can see how could you call them "unheard of". They had their songs included in at least 2 video games that I know of, by now.
I liked this one song that was included on Need For Speed Underground 2, but that's about it.
