200 addons seems like a decent limit.
I don't know what to say.
It seems kind of strange to make the addon cut off at 200 if you don't even know what the new system is going to be yet.

I filled my addon folder with every addon I've ever downloaded for the sole purpose of seeing if it would even be worth playing.
I got like 6 fps, and it took 20 minutes to load. Why would anyone want to put more than 50-60 at the absolute most?
I download shit impulsively and I'm not even close to 200 addons

I have less than 5 addons, I don't really like using a lot of them let alone 200..

I think this has kind of made a nightmare for anyone who has now lua spamming addons, because we have to go back and delete and re-download stuff with fixes. Or not get a fix because they don't do hammer/gmod anymore...

Meh... I don't play gmod much anymore anyway. As you can possibly tell I lack the brainpower to build complex stuff.

Good job Garry, but you should lower the addon count to 50 to be honest. Too many idiots with thousands of addons who are fucking up all the loading time stats.

This update looks very interesting, so I'm going to check it out.
I wonder if Garry still gets e-mails from the people who pirate G-Mod saying stuff along the lines of "Stop updating your mod, I can't play the version I downloaded off of some torrent site that was cracked by some Eastern European with too much time and talent on his hands!"
I've had $10 G-Mod since December 2006, and it has payed for itself several times over. Especially when I can create goofy faces and make rube-goldberg devices!
I seriously think there should be a cvar or something to enable the toybox in multiplayer servers which just want to fuck around. I can see why most servers wouldn't want it enabled, but if it is like a friends only server where a bunch of friends just wanted to do what ever the hell they wanted, this might make it quite fun.

What I think would be the best function ever, would be the ability to put servers up as easily as in left 4 dead 1 & 2. It's just done so quickly and easily in that engine build. For whatever reason, I can't put up servers otherwise.
