Even as a webseries the animation look terrible. The women of Star Wars deserve better.
Why is Disney putting out something you would expect to see on an unfunny YouTube channel
The Clone Wars TV show was amazing, and et they continue to miss the bar set by it by so, so much.
it looks like something you'll see in the next GTA game
This animation reminds me of sexual lobster, honestly.

Fucking stiff animation style, i already hate it.
Love those gradients. Looks like a bit more polished stuff you would find on the Web 10-15 years ago:

Screw Star Wars, when will we finally get official Spiderman and Elsa videos from Disney
This looks really bad. The animation looks terrible for a company that can afford so much more. And the story looks confusing. Is this supposed to tie two movies together somehow?

IIRC its supposed to focus on separate stories highlighting strong female protagonists.
This really doesn't look all that bad.
If you want another nice series of official Star Wars animated shorts, check out Star Wars Blips, it's a cute mini-series about R2-D2 and BB-8.

These 'episodes' are only going to be a few minutes long, they're not like 20 minutes or anything.
Why are they focusing on nothing but the female characters? Is this supposed to be directed at little girls or something?

The difference in TCW and anything else besides the movies or games coming out is that TCW technically had no budget. By that I mean Lucas basically poured several million of his own money into each episode/season. So when the passion project of the franchise creator is getting extra George Dollars to funnel into more work, animation, and all that goes into making CGI animation good. It'll have a noticeable curve in quality than a series that working on a tighter budget.
[sp]It's why Rebels looks like absolute ass, has less dense scenes, flatter character models. Because it's working on a far more limited budget.[/sp]

That is also why Rebels has very little clothing/cloth physics compared to Clone Wars as well.
Why the Temple Guards are missing their robes in that one season 2 episode. Clothing physics are expensive to render.
I bet Darth Vader was expensive to animate with his cape.
IDK why but the official Disney YT channel has always been a cringefest of "hello fellow kids" type shit. check this out

I honestly don't understand why they can't put more cash into this. Disney has more money than god, I'm sure they can afford to spend a little bit more than usual.

Because why pour money into something that doesn't have broad appeal?
TCW was the way it was because Lucas' word was law he and still owned the Franchise and pour his own money into it.
Disney is a multi-national company with ventures in just about everything, they really could care less if a youtube series or TV show isn't the getting the dollarydoos it could theoretically have.

it feels like (and I think I remember them aiming for it) they're basically trying to pull a Disney princesses kind of spiel with the females of Star Wars
Doesn't look that bad to be honest, but it does feel lazy, especially from a company that did amazing drawn animations.
wait why make a show based entirely around the female characters though
like just as a general concept i don't get it. these characters are so far removed in plot and time that i don't understand how they would feasibly link them together into a show. even if it's a series of unrelated tales, is the theme of "female star wars characters" really strong enough to link them all together?

having women only makes it diverse apparently
I've seen flash animations that look better than this, why is it so hard for someone to actually animate something these days.
Also my god does it look out of place some of those characters doing action stuff, main characters being female is one thing but an entire series dedicated to all of the females in star wars suddenly becoming Mary Sues is starting to push it.
I mean Leia fighting the fucking wampa from Hoth??
