Went outside - Took some photos

Basically, I've spent 2 weeks in New Zealand. My holiday is over now, but I'm left with lots of photos. I felt like a big fat tourist taking these, some are pretty generic tourist shots, others are some nice landscapes. Obviously you're going to be taking landscapes in a country like this... This is some, not all of the photos I've taken. Some I have posted on the creative photography thread, some I have not. There's quite a lot, so a thread is a better Idea that stretching the creative photography thread. Please tell me how much you hate them :)

I've spent no more than 5 minutes editing each one in lightroom (excluding where I've removed powerlines) so yeah, open to suggestions

Don't treat photography like a skill, it's not a competition of who can make the best photo of a bad subject. As a photographer you [i]make[/i] images that serve a purpose (entertainment, information, documentation, etc.), so choosing an interesting subject is vital to making an interesting image.

There are several rules and things you can read up on photography to give your photos that professional look. Angles, position, lightning.
If photography was as you described - then why aren't everyone out earning huge money on professional photographing services?

I think Shadow8 is right- I've seen photos being taken at the same spot by someone with skill and someone without. And you can clearly see who knows his stuff.

A skilled photographer can make the most boring normal subject a interesting and deep photo.

...And my camera is rather small, for your information.

really though, a picture of a piece of shit is still a picture of a piece of shit. no one can make it genuinely interesting.

anyway, i never said it but i thought that picture from the volcano which ended up being #7 was pretty cool.

My favorite is the one with the small house aside the tree on the hill. It just looks so cozy.
