This can mean one of three things.
1. The Watch Dogs game itself is Watch_Dogs and the trademark did not match.
2. Watch_Dogs is cancelled.
3. The game is getting a rebranding as something else.

I honestly would not be surprised.
It's going to have an Assassins Creed title. Think "Assassins Creed: Whatever."
It's probably the first one, all of their promotional material has said "Watch_Dogs" so far. "Watch Dogs" may as well mean something completely different.

They're not cancelling the game jeez, they're abandoning "Watch Dogs" trademark because the name has underscore in it now.
Canceled my preorder a few days ago, but its cause i wont be getting a PS4 in the near future
They're naming it C:\Program Files\Steam\Steamapps\Common\WatchDogs\Watch_dogs.exe to get that hacking feel

There's no way it would be cancelled, with everything they've shown so far and all the years and money they've put into it, impossible for it to end up cancelled.

Neither of those games are cancelled and neither are grimdark.
It's obviously not cancelled but I think this is a good thing. This means at some point soon Ubisoft are going to have to break their silence on the game and say something about what's going on, since they've kept quiet about it since October.
My guess is that it's going to be renamed as an Assassin's Creed title. It does take place in the same universe after all.
