The discoveries raise questions over South Korea's air defense and the North's aerial capabilities. On Monday, a drone was discovered on Baengnyeong Island in the Yellow Sea, a strategically important location for the South's military. The drone crashed on the same day as the two Koreas exchanged fire off their western coasts. South Korean government officials told CNN the most recent drone was traveling in a southward direction. "We are investigating the drone that crashed into Baengnyeong Island with the assumption that it is North Korean," said a Blue House spokesperson.
[t]http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/dam/assets/140402142328-korea-drone-paju-story-body.jpeg[/t]
They probably want us to all act like fucking fools and keep going "ahahaha look at nk they couldnt even shoot a rocket straight" it's a country, it has money and lots of it It cannot feed its people only because nearly all of that money is funneled into military and tbh its not like they are stupid enough no matter how jingoistic and hostile they are to show off any advanced capability like this (not that drones are anything new or special but facepunch seems to think that just because they dont like the dprk it is incapable of leaving the stone age and if our glorious freedom armies wanted to they could wipe it out in the flick of a wrist with no bad side effects)

This honestly looks like a balsa wood remote control plane that someone Papier maché'd a crude "stealth" shape over. It's got about as much technology in it as my TV remote.

Their best aircraft is the MiG-29, and the few they have are strictly limited to defending Pyongyang. Their best tank is the Pokpung-ho, basically a shitty T-62 trying really hard to be a T-72 which is still really fucking outdated and not relevant anymore. Then there's the issue of their navy, most of which is tiny submarines and small surface vessels with the most recent having probably 1970's-era technology. All they have is raw numbers, and while that might have meant something in the days of fighting with bolt-action rifles, they're directly pitting themselves against the most technologically advanced military force and it's allies. North Korea could easily be wiped out with a "flick of a wrist" because when you look at the hard facts, compare their numbers and equipment to ours, they do not fare well. Hell, their BFF China figured this out in the 90's and have been busting their asses to catch up. You see, at the end of the day China knew that if a conventional war happened they'd be on the losing end of it despite having swarms of troops, tanks, and aircraft to spam the battlefield. They knew that being technologically outclassed as bad as they were would render their numbers completely worthless. [editline]2nd April 2014[/editline] Oh, and I forgot to add something. North Korea has been really isolated for a long time. They've come out with the most ridiculous and fucked up propaganda and we laugh every time, but I'm pretty sure that's always been a surprise to them. They no longer understand us, the rest of the world has been experiencing itself and reacting to events, while North Korea has been in isolation. Simply put, they might as well be from the fucking moon because they've become so far out of touch with the rest of the world that they're basically alien. This means they do not fully understand how far they're behind, an example being the Pokpung-ho. While it has some pretty modern features the platform itself would not fare well on the modern battlefield and would quickly discover the true meaning of pain and misery if it ever met an Abrams. This gives anyone against them an insurmountable advantage, but it also makes them dangerous and unpredictable. They're going to do shit and react to shit with a totally different set of rules that we might recognize and be able to relate to but ultimately do not follow. They might see a possibility for success where anyone else would go "no, don't do that, you will find out the hard way what a cruise missile does."
