That was probably the best this show has ever been. I think that meant more and reached more people than any other interview he's ever given. Kind of sad, though. I could literally see his heart break when he was watching that video of people who had no idea who he was or what he did. He did all of this to inform regular fuckin' jackoffs like them, and it must be tough to feel like it was all for nothing.
Those fucking questions I expected John to suck his dick but he actually asked some unpleasant questions critical of snowden [editline]6th April 2015[/editline] This interview is amazing

Marketing! To be fair it seemed like he loosened up a little throughout the interview, though I can only imagine it would still be slightly infuriating that this is probably one of the best ways for the problem to get publicized - with dick-pic soundbites.
absolutely brilliant i have a feeling this interview will have very very important historic value when discussing the history of America during this generation.

And as funny as the dick pic thing is, that's probably the only way your average thickheaded American is going to grasp any of the implications of these programs.

Just look at all the buzz this part of the interview has gotten in the last day. As silly as it may be, it was a good idea to make it a partial joke because so many of my feeds are full of this interview because of that. It got people talking.
I've only ever seen a couple of episodes of Oliver's show but this one blew me out of the water. I feel like the actual show segment was a little subpar, as I feel like Oliver still 'tries too hard' with some of his jokes, and I think that will definitely change as he gets more comfortable with it, but the actual interview portion was one of the best interviews I've ever seen, and I honestly felt terrible for Snowden when Oliver showed the tape of the people who had no idea who he was or what he had done.

I like Oliver enough to ignore it.
The second half of this video had me in tears while also informing me of things I knew nothing about. Well done.

I find it interesting how the people on the street who didn't quite remember what Ed Snowden did spouted some kind of dialog along the lines of "he sold/stole information about US military/Iraq". It sounds a lot like the FoxNews side of the story, how they went around parading Snowden as a traitor; to which I wish they included a followup question "where did you get that info or learn it from" because I feel like those people would've said Fox.
Did he let you?
Better question would be, which one?: Funimation's "Remastered" Box Sets, the U.S. DBZ Dragon Boxes, or the "Rock The Dragon" Box Set? Although to be honest, the only ones worth getting are the U.S. DBZ Dragon Boxes, as the "Rock the Dragon" sets are only worth getting if you really want to watch the Ocean/Funi/Saban dub of the first 53 episodes (67 uncut) and the Ocean/Funi/Pioneer dub (tv edited) of the first 2 DBZ movies (with Tree of Might being the Ocean/Funi/Saban dub version), and the Remastered sets (also known as the Orange Boxes), with all the footage being cropped to 16:9 (from a 4:3 presentation) and remastering as bad Disney's recent blu-ray releases of "Cinderella" and "A Christmas Carol", ...god I don't even want to think about them!
Not only is John Oliver charming and hilarious, he is a fantastic journalist who knows how to switch from serious, critical questions to witty and clever comic relief in order to make the interviewee comfortable. By far the best episode he's done, it's intriguing to see Snowden's viewpoint as well as his more human side.
It might seem crude or like a publicity thing for Oliver, but he really gets to the heart of the problem and simplifies it for a country he isn't sure will understand it any other way. I've gotta say, that was actually pretty masterful journalism. He asked Snowden very tough questions too... I was honestly really surprised.
