good for Georgia, congrats. I hope Russia stops with this EEU shit, and lets my country alone, so we can have chance to join European trade zone in the future.
Thanks, not that we have fireworks going on, or anything.
brain shut down and thought it was the state. congrats though, georgia
I hope Russia stops with this EEU shit, and lets my country alone, so we can have chance to join European trade zone in the future.
isn't Azerbaijan a very stable country compared to its neighbors economically due to its insane oil development? at least, that's what I've heard.
How's Georgia going to trade with the EU when they're all the way in North America??? [thumb]http://theclipartwizard.com/images/flags/Map_of_Georgia.png[/thumb] Dumbasses.
Why not?Schengen area rhat would include the americas and the rest of east europe would be nice.

Europeans are apparently really against the whole firearm ownership thing in general, so the US being a part of the Schengen area means you guys are going to get inundated in illegal firearms.

Funny thing is at the time Russia helped Armenia with all the necessary means to occupy Karabakh, and now Russia is trying to give us back part of Karabakh, and in return wants Azerbaijan to join EEU. Azerbajan is stable economically but not politically. Current president is the son of the old president(who used to work for KGB and had a high post in USSR) and for decades we didn't have any real elections. If current governments for some bogey reason takes the deal, there wont be much to be done. Edited: Russian government also wants to deploy their "peace keepers" to Azerbaijan and Karabakh in 2015, if Azerbaijan takes the deal and joins EEU.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nagorno-Karabakh_conflict This made me wonder though, toward the bottom there is a forign involvement section. It seems russia is supplying military aid to both sides. Also kind of amusing seeing turkey back Azerbaijan against Armenia, considering the Armenian genocide by the Turks. Then Afghanistan is supplying military aid, while receiving it from Russia? It's like a really sly game of monopoly.
One thing that a country joining NATO(and i guess this applies to EU accession aswell) needs to have is peaceful relations with its neighbors. The strongest motive for wich georgia was refused nato entry in 2009 was because of its conflict with russia. Now, Georgia has abkhasia and s osetia in limbo. If they join EU+NATO, they'll have to renounce those territories, and that loss would probably not be accepted by georgians or the leadership, judging from sakashvili's remarks when he was pres. Same thing with moldova-transdniepr, ukraine-crimea+east ukr. If they join either EU or nato, they will loose those territories for granted, for the next couple of decades at least.
