Researchers in Japan have developed a robot in the shape of a seal that they say can provide physical and emotional support to the sick and elderly
Japan's robotic technology is among the most advanced in the world
The therapeutic robot, named Paro, makes a seal-like noise and moves its head and tail.

These have been around for quite some time now, I remember seeing them on tv 2 years ago or longer.
I love seals, this thing is so cute.
Are the japs trying to replace everything organic with robotics or something?
Because I feel like in fifty years you can't find a single organic pet in Japan, only those metal motherfuckers.
It's less comforting when you realise there's actually a gagged child inside rather than electronics.
