So there's an abandoned Walmart that I want to explore, but I'm afraid to without permission. How do you think I can get permission to go inside? Should I just contact them from their website?
Break in. Take no weapons, paint or anything to vandalize with, and don't steal anything.
Don't "break in" as such. Find a way in through an open window or a broken skylight. The last thing you want to do is leave evidence that you were there.
It's probably not "abandoned" in the true sense of the word. It's more likely for sale, with the power still turned on and alarm systems still armed. Large retail stores are usually gutted before being closed, so all you'll find is a large empty open area.

I'm pretty sure it's empty, but even if it is a large empty open area it would still be cool to go in.
Where is this exactly..?
Cabot, Arkansas, right next to the operating Walmart.
if anything they're probably using it as a warehouse space of sorts. They were going to open a small grocery store out by me, but they never did for some reason and are just storing things in it now
It's been sitting there unused (I think) for about 7 years now. They might be using it for storage.
If its 7 years it's probably not in use at all. If you cant find a window to get into or a way in just make one.
I find it very unlikely that Walmart would just leave a store abandoned in a town.
They've probably just left it there because no one wants to buy the property, they don't want to pay the money to tear it down, and there's an operating walmart next to it. There probably isn't anything that cool in there though.
I find it very unlikely that Walmart would just leave a store abandoned in a town.
It's literally RIGHT next to the operating one.
OP, don't do it. Common sense tells me that after 7 years, something would have happened. It's probably a big warehouse now.
Go over there scout it out, after seeing what is around decide what if you want to go in.
pics of abandoned+ operating pl0x
Give us a google maps picture of it then we can probably decide if it is really abandoned or not.
Go to the cash register to get free candy bars!

I'd just go there during the day a few times and at different times of the day and see if theres any activity
