[hd]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XweyKPF4P50[/hd] HD remaster of the G.U. Trilogy for PS4 and PC, with additional features for those who just want to experience the story, quality-of-life tweaks and otherwise. Also a new story that seems to be involved with like some sorta [sp]not-Belmont Haseo[/sp] shit. Comes out November 3rd in America. I know some people would rather see a remaster/remake of the original quadrilogy, but we can't have everything
I think what's holding back rebooting/re-releasing the original games is that they'd also have to cover all the costs and logistics of releasing the .hack//Liminality DVDs to go with the story, since the OVAs are [sp]what's happening in the real world during the events of the games[/sp]

I think it's less that and more the fact that with the quality content the devs put out now, the IMOQ series is absolutely dated and would be one of the most awkward PS2 remasters possible if it got put onto the PS4 as is.

But that's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about licensing fees and royalties. Plus remastering an anime miniseries on top of remastering four PS2 games.

I'm fucking hype, though I'm still waiting on an actual "The World" mmo.
Is this the .Hack games I've heard a lot about or is this another series? Should I pick this up?
Is this the .Hack games I've heard a lot about or is this another series? I think the best thing I can say about G.U. is that I bought the first game and played it, and after a few days of playing, I got to sit down and just jam on it for a good seven hours and made a bunch of progress in the storyline. As I got up and turned my PS2 off because it was time to get on with life, I thought, "Man, it was cool meeting new friends. I hope they'll be on tomorrow." [beat] "Wait a second." The .hack series presents itself as a front-end to a 'real' MMO, and while this gimmick has very obvious constraints in an offline game, some of it is pulled off fairly well.
loved g.u. Endrance was a fun character lol

just a reminder that last recode will include an all new volume 4 of g.u.
just a reminder that last recode will include an all new volume 4 of g.u.
Wonder how long it's going to be then
Wonder how long it's going to be then
Besides the new form for Haseo, it seems more like its basically an animated epilogue since it's clearly not using in-game assets or even any gameplay footage in what was shown in the trailer.

I had .hack//Infection and absolutely loved it. I went to all the different game stores in my area and couldn't find the sequel anywhere. The .hack// universe is absolutely amazing though. All the characters feel like they actually belong there.
