Sounds like he was pretty unstable at the end
http://www.wdrb.com/story/33281914/ky-house-candidate-making-no-apologies-for-shocking-images-on-his-facebook-page he's previously been in the news for comparing barack and michelle obama to monkeys. make of that what you will
He won't be missed. [editline]13th December 2017[/editline] If he shot himself that soon after he was accused of molestation, there's little doubt that the accusations were true.

This fucking fake news demagoguery, now this is just going to make it worse because now the "fake news" killed someone instead of someone credibly accused of a horrible crime committing suicide

Isnt suicide considered a pretty major sin?
Isnt suicide considered a pretty major sin?
It's kind of complicated within the bible itself. I don't think there's any explicit condemnations of it as a sin, but there's a few incidences of it and a lot of ambiguous quotes like 1 Corinthians 3:17. But at least with the theology I'm most familiar with, catholicism, it's been strongly considered a sin pretty much ever since at least Aquinas solidified it. This guy seemed to be an evangelical though and I've got no clue what his congregation would think, but it's likely to be a bit more open based on what biblical evidence and real world evidence leave you with, along with what they tend to put emphasis on. here's his church btw: http://www.heartoffirepopeshouse.com/
Isnt suicide considered a pretty major sin?
It depends on the denomination. Most don't really make a distinction between levels of sin. Some like Catholicism separate sin into venial sins that weaken your relationship with god, and more serious mortal sins that would lead to damnation if not repented. (Which is a problem in suicide since you aren't alive to repent.) Catholics still don't think suicide is 100% guaranteed damnation though, because a mortal sin requires the person to be fully aware of the gravity of the sin, and many suicidal people aren't in a mental state to fully acknowledge that.
I was taught coming up Catholic that suicide was a guaranteed trip to damnation.
Regardless of what he did, sounds extremely unstable. Got Francis E Deck vibes from that message.
sorry, forgot this isn't a sane world, woops
america isn't a sane country. don't talk shit about the world. plenty of places wouldn't elect pedophiles and racists
This is a pretty dangerous way of thinking
Completely different scenario. That went to court, that was someone who couldn't cope long-term. This motherfucker got found out and shot himself a few days later. He was a goddamn loon and a paranoid politician. That entire last post just screamed "guilt". [editline]14th December 2017[/editline]
plenty of places wouldn't elect pedophiles and racists
Yes they would. This is the second time this month someone in a position of power has offed themselves after being accused of sexual misconduct. The first one was a cop that made a teen masturbate in front of him if I remember correctly. I'm ok with this trend.
This is a pretty dangerous way of thinking
Normally id be inclined to agree with you except this isn't an emotionally immature teen who immediately assumes their entire life is over the moment they get accused of something. This is a grown ass man in a position of power (a position where you would be expected to fight off these kinds of accusations if they were bogus) who had children and grandchildren. Sounds to me like he knew he was checkmated and he wanted to save face in the eyes of his family by painting himself as a victim. Which imo is pretty fucking selfish, you don't toy with peoples emotions like that.
A similar thing happened last month in Wales as well https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2017/nov/07/suspended-welsh-labour-politician-carl-sargeant-has-died
america isn't a sane country. don't talk shit about the world. plenty of places wouldn't elect pedophiles and racists
Didn’t Germany just elect a bunch of racists to their government?
What a fuckin' nutter
Dude still had a family. I don't think it's right to celebrate the death of a man who is clearly mentally unstable.
I feel for the family 100% but the dude sounded like an absolute nutter who couldn't take the heat (assuming the accusations are true)
All that prattering on about loving his wife and family sounds so damn hollow when the next thing he does is swallow the lead pill. If he truly did love them he wouldn't have left them in grief, he wouldn't have molested anyone, and he'd have...well, been just fine.

A large part of suicidal ideation is believing that you're a burden to your loved ones and they'd be genuinely better off without you (even if just a little). Just sayin'.
Didn’t Germany just elect a bunch of racists to their government?
no, no they did not
Didn’t Germany just elect a bunch of racists to their government?
What? No?

If he truly did love them he wouldn't have left them in grief, he wouldn't have molested anyone, and he'd have...well, been just fine.
If the allegations against him are true, then the guilt and shame of that must have been immense for him, and horrifying and humiliating for his family. He may have hoped that in killing himself, the matter would be put to rest, sparing his family the horror of learning what their father really was, and himself the pain and humiliation of watching his family struggle under that burden.
