I have so much excitement that its boiling out of my eyes like some sort of liquid.
Shocking how this got a R rating even though the studio was trying to get a PG-13.
Fucking Brilliant, can't wait.

I mean it is the killing joke..
Stoked that they got Conroy and Hamill for this but, the artstyle looks like it was animated in flash, which is honestly pretty disappointing.
That is absolutely fantastic. Gives me shivers.
Stoked that they got Conroy and Hamill for this but, the artstyle looks like it was animated in flash, which is honestly pretty disappointing.
The art style looks fine. The behind the scenes video that was put up then taken down shortly after goes over why they went with this. Basically, the much more realistic look of the comic doesn't actually look good when animated, so they looked to other artists and found this one to be better.
What's up with the animation? Liking the art style at least.
i always wonder why there isn't more western animation that isn't comedy
like you look over to japan and there's tons of anime that's more drama or action than anything else, but western cartoons are almost all primarily comedy, even if they have dramatic moments
i'm not too interested in batman but i hope this movie does well so that maybe that precedent will change and we'll start to see more animation like it
gonna wait till this is out and wacth a bunch standalone well done batman cartoons in one setting
Bit at :44 is pretty cool looking.

That hella low framerate is murder on the eyes
Yeah for a lot of the animation, it seems like they added in some key frames but just left it there without smoothing it out at all. Really disappointing

Usually it's because they don't do as as well as comedy cartoons, especially when they're not about superheroes.
our culture grew up with two things: superheroes and hannah-barbera cartoons. Cartoons are always seen as a 'kids thing' and people severely underestimate the impact good writing has regardless of the medium
Killing Joke is probably the best thing to come out of DC.
I sort of wish they went with the old Bruce Timm style.

it's not that it didn't look good when animated, it's just that there's way too much detail that it would be nearly impossible TO animate.
and they didn't want to go with bruce timm's artwork because it didn't really fit with the killing joke's more "mature" nature (as their explanation)

well when you get something written by alan moore you can be sure its gonna be a treat
guy wrote like 2-3 of my top favorite graphic novels, including watchmen which i consider the absolute best.
Literally dug into that one over 6-7 times.
For those talking about the movement in the animation looking odd, most modern animation is animated at 8 fps to save time and money.

I enjoyed the movie far more than the comic.
Jackie Haley did an awesome job.
I see they edited the scene where commissioner gordon is being driven insane, but I can understand why.
I'm interested in this, but christ, the framerate was making me motion sick.
The animation is awful. They shouldn't have cheaped out for such a big story.
I also think Conroy needs to retire as Batman, he's such a bland and blasé voice actor, I don't know why many people see him as the definitive Batman. Hamill looks 10/10 as the Joker in this though, as always.
Here's an interview/featurete about it

you smell that?
that's the smell of shit running down my legs
why is the video twice as long as it needs to be
What would you guys have thought of this being done in (tasteful) 3D animation, with a shader to mimic Bolland's style? I don't hate the look of the animation, it looks good, I just think that maybe with a style as detailed and gritty as Bolland's that a stylized 3D animation technique might have preserved that style more than simplifying it and merging it with the BtAS style. 3D techniques to mimic 2D illustration have come a long way and can be very convincing. Check out how Arc System Works achieved their 2D-in-3D look in Guilty Gear Xrd. Looks miles better than any previous attempt, and its within a game engine.

Because we need to know that we can subscribe and follow them on every social media outlet on the planet in order to get more great videos.
