fucking low to kick someone when they are already down
Did that one protester have an actual gun, or is that pellet?

The cops have also shot at unarmed voluntary medics on the protesters side. They really deserve the full force of the people crashing down upon them.
Regarding protester armament, it varies from BB's to submachine guns afaik
Holy shit.
Good to see they're standing strong.
Humanity wouldn't be anything without being able to protest.
Just a shame this is even needed.
This just sucks for everyone involved.
I have no sympathy for either sides. They both hurt people that are on the ground, they're both using live ammo against one another. It's just going to end up badly, I think. There is always going to be a civil unrest now in Ukraine. Don't forget to mention the fact that they'll be spending millions of dollars to clean up everything, so they're just going to be causing more problems for themselves.
Also I have a feeling that people are out there(civilians) just to break shit, and throw shit around without caring about the actual politics behind it. Breaking into cars, breaking windows of stores, breaking general shit that other people have.
I don't think I can support either side, and as many dumbs as I might get, it's the same thing with Syria, or Egypt, or now Venezuela that is starting up as well.
if i recall wasn't it the police who "fired" first?
to my limited knowledge it started as a peaceful protest.

Yeah it did
"The Euromaidan protest movement began on 21 November 2013, as a peaceful protest. On 30 November 2013, the protests were dispersed violently by the Berkut riot police units, sparking riots the following day in Kiev."

This is all terrible and stuff.
But i love seeing footage of riots like those.

As badly as it may suck, When 'demonstrating' (if that's what you can call it) there will always be people who exploit the situation just to fuck shit up.
But on the other hand, As people you cannot accept what the government is doing. You have to make it clear that you won't accept their bullshit any longer, however with a government like that any legal methods won't do a damn thing. The only way to break free from it, is unfortunately with violence.
Yeah both side's are completely out of their minds from kicking and hitting people who are on the ground/unarmed, altough on the side of the protestors I often see people who try to protect policeman who are down, yes they strip them from their protective gear and weapons but they also try to stop others from killing him. And in a situation like that, where you see your friends get shot, your friends get beaten down and killed, in a situation like that I'd also see myself kicking some policeman who fell on the ground in the heat of the moment.
Was kinda disturbing to see police officers kicking a protester like that helpless on the ground.
I mean the protesters did the same but to fully armored armed policeofficers.
Good for the people of Kiev. The fact that they actually held back the police for that long and with that much force is pretty impressive.

Can't really blame them. Even if you supported the riots and had to just do your job as a officer, you would undoubtedly get pissed off having stuff thrown at you all day.
Both sides are being alittle shitty.

There was also the scene where the protestors stepped in and made them stop hurting the officer. The only people I saw being saved from officers who were hurting them were the ones that managed to break away and run on their own power.
I happened to have this playing while watching that video, really gave me the shivers

The protesters are being a little shitty. The cops and the government are being massive human rights violations-level shitty.
I really hope that the government officials that supported the Enabling Act and the violent response to the protests never sleep well again in their lives. They're undoubtedly horrible human beings. Fuck the president straight to hell.
The police are there to maintain order, it doesn't matter who fired first, it matters that shits getting out of hand and the police are doing their job. I don't think live ammunition should be used, but the ~edgy~ teen guy shooting randomly into the police formations, it should be. That guy isnt only a threat to the police, but to civilians not involved in the riot.
I support the reason behind the protest, but not the way they are protesting.

You do know that the Police attacked them during a peaceful protest first, wouldn't you retaliate if you got attacked like that for no reason whatsoever? They were protesting peacefully there was no reason for the Police to beat them for it.

Think about it from the police perspective. These people are paid and ordered to do this job. If they refused to follow orders or joined the protesters they could fuck themselves. Then they got all these people throwing shit onto them all day long. I'd be pretty fucking pissed if I was one of the cops as well.
You know the real hell is going to begin when someone throws a chair.

But that's also your job, and you're in a position of massive authority. People given such authority need to have that discipline or they shouldn't have it at all IMO.

"Millions have died from men just 'doing their job'"
Its not my fault I shot all those stick wielding protestors from the safety of my sniping position I was only following orders!!!

wut. So apparently every uprising in the past couple years in your eyes is just civilians out to break shit for fun and loot?
What actually happened?
Excuse me for my ignorance.
wut. So apparently every uprising in the past couple years in your eyes is just civilians out to break shit for fun and loot?
No, he said some people out there that do that stuff, he never said the majority of uprisings are just to break shit, every riot has it's idiots.
-snoop-
"Those who make peaceful change impossible will make violent revolution inevitable."
The protesters are completely in the right for fighting the police. Even if the police didn't use violence first, I would still agree. Violence is a viable method of resistance, even though it's so horrible. If they didn't fight, these people could literally be locked up for dissenting with the state. Just take a moment to think about how fucked up that is. These authority figures, whose authority is not given based on merit, but by how the support other authority figures, have a choice to support their tyrannical state, or fight with the people. "Just doing my job" doesn't fucking cut it. The only reason police officers have to listen to the state is because of the power they give the state themselves. Authority such as that doesn't just magically appear and sustain itself, it is completely artificial and is reliant on those with power (like the police and the military) to sustain it.
