Fucking dumbasses, let them starve and dehydrate if their religion matters so much to them that they priortise it over basic survival.
Why?
it's because many of them think accepting food and other victuals would be consenting to hungarian hospitality, to stay in hungary in a camp and therefore not be free to progress towards germany. they believe they're trying to be lured off a train that will take them where they want to go. they've had mixed interactions with hungarian authorities, who are currently obliged by EU laws (which are under renegotiation) to apply for refugee status/asylum in the first EU country they enter. that much they've communicated to the refugees and it's made them despondent.
also a lot of these people simply don't have the moral sophistication to understand how and to whom they're being presented in the media. they've been through a lot and aren't trying to make a charismatic case for their arrival. they're thinking only of themselves and how to get what they believe they need. plenty of syrian refugees, especially the young boys, don't make themselves particularly palatable because they've missed out on years of school going back to even before the revolution and they've had no positive models or influences. it's a terrible situation and it requires patience.
Why?
Because they are angry that they are being kept in Hungary instead of Germany. Despite Hungary also offering them the necessary refugee from.
I thought that war refugees would just go for the first country that is totally safe for them. Something seems awfully off about this behavior.

Vid related: Remember those photo's of that family cowering on the rails in that Hungarian Refugee Camp yesterday? And with the man getting carried off by multiple Hungarian officers?
This is what actually happened. Turns out that man pretty much dived on the rails with a woman and a baby that might not even be his, and the officers were pulling him off that woman and child.
Yet the media painted it as a common sob story of a poor family getting oppressed by the Hungarian military because going for the emotional appeal is easier than just bringing out the real truth.
Nothing against war refugees, but really, something feels completely off with the behavior of those supposed war refugees in the last few weeks.
I get that they are wanting to go to the richest countries to get refugee aid from, but this sort of behavior they have been pulling in Eastern European countries is wholly unacceptable.
The thing I don't like about all these refugees is how many of them are young men. If we're going to help anyone out, it should be women and children first (Of which there seems to be very few)
I don't understand why all those refugees refuse to remain in Hungary. It is a poorer country than Germany but it can't be that bad, can it?

It's because they think they are able to just pick and choose where they want to settle.
Hey didn't you also post that neo-nazi video the other day too

I think they perceive Germany as safer.

Yeah that's not what this is about.

Germany is the richest and safest country in Europe. Most refugees are going to want France and Germany because these are perceived as the best countries in Europe, not Hungary or Greece which are seen as second world by comparison. If you wanted a future for your family or yourself, would you just settle?
The law states that they must apply for asylum int eh first country they reach in the EU, which for many is Greece, Albania, Bulgaria, and sometimes Hungary- not exactly the greatest places with strong economies and accepting and open populations. Fears are, also, that if they accept aid and shelter from Hungary, or sign forms, then they're trapped there and could be tracked and sent back to Syria. They are also told that there is more accommodation- housing, shelter, etc- in northern and western European countries, where the influx of migrants and refugees has been lower than in Italy, Greece, Hungary, and Bulgaria.

My posts are not endorsements.
Anyways, I've found some quotes of refugees who boarded the train:
But the carriages were halted less than half an hour after leaving the capital by security forces, who tried to move the refugees to a nearby processing camp. For much of Friday, they refused to budge, turning away offers of water, fruits and sweets and shouting “No food! No food!” in protest.
“The situation is so bad,” said Adnan Shanan, 35, from Latakia in Syria, who said he was fleeing war in his homeland. “We have many sick people on the train. We have pregnant women, no food, no water. We don’t need to stay here one more day. We need to move on to Munich, to anywhere else. We can’t stay here. We can’t wait until tomorrow.”

A woman who called herself Kaffaa, arrived with her husband and toddler. The little girl was sick, she said, but she would only stop for medical help once they got to Munich.
“Germany is no problem for us,” she said. “Germany will take us.”
Most are keen to meet up with relatives in other countries. Others, like five Iraqi men sleeping in Vienna's train station while they figure out how to get to England, say they fear that Austrian police will evoke the Dublin Accord and send them back to Hungary.
Under Dublin, refugees must apply for asylum in the first EU country they arrive in. But the refugees say they do not want to live in countries like Hungary, which treated them poorly. They want to live in nations where they feel welcomed, they said.
Ahmet Hussein, 40, said he wants to go to Belgium because “they will give me a house.” Hussein had left his wife and children in Iraq while he found a safe place for them to live. He said the family had saved money for months to pay the human trafficker 1,500 euros for what had been promised as a safe journey.
“In Belgium, there is a good chance for my children to study,” Hussein said. Then he thought about it and added, “In Germany there are many jobs available if I learn German.”
“Here in Austria, there are no jobs and salaries are not good enough for living,” Hussein said.
Omar Sirwan, an ethnic Kurd from Iran, said he started his journey to Europe on July 29. When he got to Istanbul, he paid a smuggler 8,000 euros to get him to England. “I like the people; I know about the country. I speak a little English,” he said. “Here I know nothing.”
This is what he thinks he knows about England: When he gets there, he will get money every month until he finds work. He will get a house.
What do you want us to do then, American? Jam syringes with IV nutrition into their arms?
They come here, they refuse to take our aid because of a fucking cross, then they start attacking the locals for no apparent reason.

The western part of the country is okay
I never knew you were a racist...
I am not a racist, calling people out for acting like shit is not racist.
Their skin colour is not a justification for acting like that, and I am not racist because I am saying this as a white person.
Assholes are assholes, regardless of what race they are.
If I had to flee my country and I was sick and starving I would not give a shit even if my aid package had a god damn swastika on it. Food is food, water is water, and both are needed for survival. I might get pissed at the swastika, but throwing shit away just because of that is just dumb.

It is kind of stupid, but they were told they would be sent to Germany when really they're just being sent to camps outside of Budapest. And they don't want to go to these camps because:
They fear that Hungarian authorities want them to go to a nearby holding camp -- an option they reject because they say they were badly treated at camps when they first crossed into Hungary from Serbia.
http://www.cnn.com/2015/09/04/europe/migrant-crisis-country-by-country/
Basically they're totally allowed to go to a place with waaay better conditions but they're forced into being herded into worse conditions.
Have a moment of empathy and understanding when you watch these videos and look at these people - if you were in their situation would you refuse aid? Probably not, and neither would they ... unless you (or they) had a pretty damn good reason.

The other half of the story is that the Hungarian government has been insensitive to their beliefs, harsh on treatment, and restrictive on them. Yeah, when you get a large population of desperate people from a war zone shit's going to ignite, but you know a simple solution? Let them move through Hungary and to where they want where they can spread out, receive better aid, and let countries with greater capacities to handle them do so.
I also like how you pointed out that I'm American, like that's somehow a handicap or a talking-down when discussing refugees and migrants. You might take note that America has more undocumented migrants (for all practical purposes refugees) than the population of Hungary itself. Want to talk about migrants? America has had to deal with this problem for almost two decades. It's funny, if you treat hungry brown people like actual people then they tend to act just fine. When you restrict their movement, herd them into camps, and fail to provide them with living accommodation not much better than the war zone they just left and far worse than the place they want to go, then you might not get along so well.
