I'm pretty sure he mentioned in some interviews that he really wants to do a superhero movie but hasn't had the chance yet.

Also for those who don't know this is an adaptation of a Japanese book called "All You Need Is Kill". Kinda glad they changed the name.

I thought it felt familiar. All You Need is Kill was pretty awesome from what I remember. And from this trailer it doesn't seem to be that bad of an adaptation.

i like the variety shown. i was worried it would mostly be war scenes from the beginning of the trailer but it seems there's a lot more that happens, too. seems like it might run for a while
