Ok, so I've mostly ever critted in the Corner, and it's time I got me some.
Excuse badish scans and incompleteness of college doodles. (Images drawn with biro)

Advice on scales? Arms may be too long, I know. See below Photoshop WIP - my first ever serious shot at digital colouring.

Reminiscent of Rihanna 'Good Girl Gone Bad' album pose, though not exact. Tips / advice to complete / correct the pose appreciated : D
Scales are good as they are. You should remove scales from face thou, unless you want her to look like a decomposing granny. I'm not trying to force meself to come up with some anatomy critic like most of this forum's population does, but that right boob is definitely slightly higher than the other (first pic).

Thanks for the feedback.
I can't quite see the boob issue, but then I just have been drawing it, so errors usually become far more apparent a day or two later, I'm sure I'll see what you mean soon ;)
I disagree with scales from face however, I figured she'd be blemished - like we have moles and freckles, I like to think if there's a scaly woman fish, she'd have a few misplaced here and there. I guess it's personal preferance, aesthetic, I suppose.
Scale looks more like pimples
Scale looks more like pimples
Ok, I suppose I could make them more jaggy shaped in future so they look less like pimples : D
Second one's mouth is 'tad crooked.
Like 'em.
I like your style.
nice, but why rapefaces?
Love the style, and I have to agree with smiley's comment on the nipples. They're not quite the same. I'd tweak the positions around a little to show you what I mean, but there is now someone in the room and I can't go back up to the pics at the moment. v:v:v
Good, but I can't really crit on anything as this is not a very large body of work. What I mean is, if all your drawings resemble this, you need to branch out on varying genders, species, faces, body types, environments,basically...everything. You have a good art skill, that's obvious, now expand.
I like the style, but I think the scales need to overlap more.
On a side note, remind me to put "tits" in the thread title next time I post a space wallpaper or something.

Yeah, I don't draw a lot of fishy creatures, so I got pretty lazy on the scales. I agree, thank you.
And uh-huh, tits are always sure to attract attention, I didn't lie either ;)

I realise I've developed somewhat of an archetype, and no doubt it must be blatent. To be fair, I do practise both genders, but I wonder what happened to that anatomy thread by so-and-so? :<
I like to think I'm reasonably flexible with environments - though I do favour the gritty dystopic sci-fi fantasy type, or at least, something with a little oddness...certainly I don't believe I'm one for doodling cuddly perfect little creatures.
In any such case, thank you : D I'll try to update this with any different ideas so you can get a grasp of my scope (or perhaps, lack thereof).
Faces are my biggest challenge.
Her right bap looks slightly too far towards the center of her frame. Great drawing though. You should maybe post some fully coloured stuff.

Thanks for the C&C, 'bap' made me chuckle. Coloured however? I think I'm pretty bad at colouring traditionally, and digitally? Well, I keep trying, getting bored and giving up - and I don't really blame that on my mouse, because I've seen some pretty nifty cursor(?) art, besides, I've tried a pad at college, and they're quite difficult to adjust to. I'd like to buy one for home use some day though : D anyway, I've been thinking lately about looking up some Photoshop tutorials, so maybe one day FP will see some of my beautifully coloured masterpieces HAW HAW
Updated with WIP.
I think you could have just coloured over the pencil sketch, the digital lineart looks worse than the pencil lineart.

Thanks for the input, I agree. I wonder if you'd say the same for previous lineart shown here http://cassykerr.deviantart.com/art/Mermaid-WIP-152435369 , I need to know if I should abandon such a technique altogether...in any case, I do think the line art shown here is a bit thick and lazy - I didn't have the original PS file at college, so I can admit the lines are a little slap-dash. If I'll be honest, I wanted primarily to get onto some painting - I've just picked up a tablet from the college.
Yup, I'd definitely go with the pencil lines, they look much more natural and give it more character either way. :)
Unless you want to brush up (heh heh) your digipaint skills. I'd still prefer the pencil version.
I'm no artist, but I know tits. And, to me, those tits look a little weird.
Great job everywhere else, as far as I can tell, though.

Thanks again for the input, true I could use my hand drawn lines - would need cleaned up a little however. I'd still like to lineart in PS, but I'm not too good with the tablet yet - I'm a bit scribbly and smooth lines are difficult to achieve in comparison with a pencil.

"A little weird" isn't helpful hehe, please red pen if you can.
Also:
This is the tablet I'm using http://www.trust.com/products/product.aspx?artnr=14070
Guys, is this pants, or am I just a retarded noob? I'm suspicious the answer will be the latter, but in any case, this thing feels really inaccurate and I really have to press hard for it to work - any ideas? I've installed the drivers.

Well, I'm at school, so I'm not gonna red pen a picture with boobs, but I can say: the shape doesn't look right to me. Even in small boobs there's a definite shape that is defined. A "blobby" shape, but yours look very..bumpy.

Any boobie pics are always saucy, but I'm sure you won't have a problem with that later.
I can't see what's wrong with the boobs, really. I'd need someone to red pen :<
As I said..I'm not an artist. I tried to red pen it, but it looks fucking awful.
I just figured the tits should have a more.. bulbous look.
I dunno, they are recognizable as tits. However I agree they do look off -- But I can't tell you where.
I think you could keep them as is because it's not exactly human. Ontop of that, she doesn't look fully of age which could mean underdeveloped body.
"The left one needs to be moved a tiny bit, and the right one needs to be a tiny bit bigger".
That's what my artistic female friend says, hope it helps. :p
here's my little attemp:

As for the color part, I'd say keep the lineart.
Set it to overlay on the top layer and paint below that.

Just a note: Under the left boob shouldn't stick out like so in the red-over.

Thanks for the pen, it helps alot :D I suppose it's good to see my main problem really is just the boobs - since you followed most of my lines.
I would also like to ask though, how did you paint the scales? I have no doubt that to you, it's probably just adding a little color - it'd otherwise be a digital success for me!
I can't seem to get those 'watery' brushes in PS.
Turn up hardness and flow :]
