Looks pretty interesting. I am honestly pumped to see what they do with Tenzin's brother Bumi.
I should probably start watching this, the rate at which they go from swords and sailboats to motorbikes in about 20 years confused me a bit since I haven't watched avatar in a long time
looks good
I fucking love Korra Season 1. Even though it has some flaws i still love it.
10 days left. Should probly do a marathon of avatar and first seson of korra

Well the story takes place 80 years after TLA, and given developmental backtracking in technology I'd estimate its been more of a span of 40-50 years in technological advancement. Also the lack of "The Dark Ages" probably helped as well.

Not 20 years, it was around 100 I think

Even without "The Dark Ages" it's hard to take in they have motorcycles and WWI planes in just 80 years.
They must've had some sort of Super Renaiassance Baby Boom.

I like to think these are just a faster advancing existence of the human race.

Well the Fire Nation already had car like vehicles and that one crazy dude made the first airplane and blimp. Plus when the war ended everybody came together and started rebuilding everything and inventing.
Been a while since I watched any of the first season, but the animation quality seems to have dropped and the voicework seems to have changed. Did Asami always sound that way? Watching her facial animations and Bolin's seemed off.

The animation is great in Korra. Its even better in Season 2
hopefully this time it has less relationshit and some actual character development for korra

I hope Bolin becomes a proper character again and not a joke like he became at the end of series 1.
I want to watch this (Season 1 obviously) but I was wondering do I need to watch The Last Airbender or am I good-2-go with just Korra?

You could but you would miss certain things that carry over from Avatar. Some of the characters they mention alot and certain events that are from Avatar so i would just watch Avatar. Plus Avatar is fucking amazing.

It is a richer experience investing in The Last Airbender first. You have a much deeper connection with the world and the characters in The Legend of Korra. I recommend starting from the beginning.

In the first show the Fire nation had simple tanks and planes.

Spoilers for the end of TLA book 3.
[sp]And Sokka invented submarines.[/sp]
Studio Pierrot is working on this. You might know them as the folks who have worked on YuYu Hakusho.

Well, The fire nation was undergoing a industrial revolution in avatar 1, having steamships, motorized tanks, factories and stuff, while all the other nations were still living in tribes. I guess technologies got spread from there.

Ba Sing Se was much more than just a tribe though. Still, they did rely much more upon benders back then.
I have high hopes for the second season, especially now that they won't be constrained to one season like they thought they were with the first. Maybe this time it won't be rushed.

Well its been over a year so it better not be rushed.
That's bullshit. She clearly cheated.
Pff!
Holy shit Korra, squandering the Avatar State's potential much? What happens if you fall off, break your neck and then boom, no more avatar. The cycle is broken forever because you used your cosmic power for petty bullshit.
But of course, we're probably SUPPOSED to feel that, and it'll serve as foreshadowing to how she'll come to terms with her tenuous spiritual connection in this season.
But still, sounds fun. Doubtless, we'll learn a whole lot more Avatar lore, while Korra abuses the Avatar State and wrecks shit with as much reckless abandon as the budget will allow for.
Something seems really off with the animation, or just how in general everything is moving. Maybe I'm just being too picky.
Yesssss. Can the 13th come faster!!

No, parts looked odd, especially when they were racing.
I hope after Legend of Korra they do "Avatar origins" or something badass
the story of the original avatar. Something big had to have come out of needing an avatar, so why the fuck not. Just like what Star Trek: Enterprise did with star fleet, and what they should do in Star Wars about the Jedi.

Pretty sure they're featuring the first avatar in Book 2, they're probably going to explore his backstory, too.
