In all honesty this seems kinda alright.
Pretty good if you've invested in a controller for your mobile device, otherwise a nightmare for those who'll be trying to play Streets of Rage and Sonic on a touchscreen. Here's hoping they port more games than their current mobile library however, House of the Dead/Virtua Cop games on mobile is the dream.

oh shit altered beast!
They made a big deal teasing Game Gear, Saturn, and Dreamcast shit over the course of the last week and yet it's just some lousy Genesis ROMs on your phone. It bugs the shit out of me when companies charge for individual ROMs when you could get the same games plus 30 more in a collection years ago. It's so lazy and patronizing, especially when I can just run all of these through RetroArch and have the same or better experience. If you're going to sell us emulation, write an official Saturn emulator and I'll pay out the ass for it. The trailer was neat though.
Sega says the games were rebuilt with unity so they can be able to transfer these games to any platform they wish, they started with mobile first since most profitable
Rewriting whole games for the sake of adding leader boards and portability seems like overkill to me. If they're rewritten in Unity I doubt they'll rewrite anything more complex than a Genesis or early arcade title, so I guess that means no Saturn or 3D arcade games.
crazy taxi was a confirmed title in the trailer, which means 3D arcade titles are gonna happen [t]http://i.imgur.com/yDsyPF4.png[/t]

Judging from reports, they seem to be free, ad-supported versions of the games that function and have Cloud Saves, but have an awkward bilinear filter on-top for 2D games. You can buy them but supposedly it's a couple bucks per game. This is really just a collection of their mobile ports over the years with other games added in via presumably an emulator ran in Unity, with no real extra features.
I just want my mobile port of Space Harrier.
According to ArsTechnica, Genesis games are emulated, but Dreamcast and Saturn games will be ported

Before that ArsTechnica article I could only find vague statements about the games being "remade for Unity", but that's just PR bullshit/misinformation. It's all emulation and previous ports running in some Unity shell. Still might be cool if we do see some Saturn ports.
I saw a Sonic Adventure case in that video And if you don't know about Segata Sanshiro.....

While the fighting games played fine, Daytona USA was a massive downgrade. [sp]They'll probably just re-release the Genesis version of Virtua Fighter 2 again[/sp]
