This Dr. Disrespect guy is making an effort to be a better person. Dude acted like a total piece of shit, but his wife has decided to forgive him. It doesn't fix or excuse what he did. It does mean though that there is still love in their marriage, and that means they can learn from this and be stronger for it.

I think I said this somewhere else, but this isn't a little mistake that you can say 'sorry' for, sneak away for a bit, and have it all fixed up.
I don't think you can change from deliberately inflicting massive emotional harm on another person AND the child you raised with them. That critical lack of empathy and regard for other people's trust and wellbeing doesn't just go away. tbh, I wouldn't be surprised if he just cheats on her again, now that he knows he can get away with it.

Thing is, people have cheated and changed. We're not talking about a mass murderer here who is stuck in their ways. As for the lack of empathy part, that doesn't make any sense. To act like he doesn't feel remorse for what he did even during the act is bs. Oh, you lied to me? YOU MUST NOT LOVE ME!

Poor communication I guess, cause from here you just used "you lied to me" as a point in response to talking about "you fucked people behind my back in a committed relationship", in this case a marriage. It's actually a crime in some places.
