This is the future
Imagine sneaking onto a friends computer and rift and replacing that same augmented reality software with some sort of horrifying deformed monster
Actually they probably wouldn't be your friend anymore after that
This is terrifying
This implemented with that anime handjob game will be a neckbeards dream.

Waifus are for loving, not sex

sure....
AAA HAHAHAHAHA
I'm throwing my waifu at my screen but it isn't happening.
oh god it begins. I totally imagined this like one of the first kinda fucked up things that would come with augmented reality. Its the first element of a cyberpunk dystopia to be honest, and while it gets better and better, the more frightening it becomes.
The future looks good.
Imagine having virtual assistants showing you around airports, museums and other public spaces. Pretty amazing stuff we're seeing here.
Well, the technology is interesting, at least.
I wish I could read more kanji, that visual recognition system sounds interesting (it's markerless!). Really jittery tracking, though. I wonder if that's a problem with the algorithm, lag from the xtion, or something else. I'm curious to see what would happen if they used the rift's trackers to "guess" where things are moving and then used occasional xtion samples to correct it.

dystopia?
i think you mean utopia!!!
oh man. Can't wait till this gets coupled with some sort of costume that lets you feel things.
I'm all giddy now
Meat hook as a back-scratcher. Fair enough.
Kitchen detected.
VERY CUTE
But does she dance with domino's pizza?
And of course a video like this wouldn't be complete without the last 30 seconds.
Just imagine that in the future, you're going to be showing this to your cyberfamily to show them where they came from. I for one, look forward to using haptic feedback gloves and a skintight haptic feedback plugsuit to hold hands with and embrace my soulmate

we bring to you, the Oculus Rift. It's cute, like Miku.
I'm pretty sure that there's a "penis detected" function in there somewhere.
Holy shit that ending.
Why does everyone always use Miku?
Seriously, since AR really took off on the PC they've been using Miku.

Yeah. You know, despite the... poor... choice of application, I've always been curious as to using the Occulus Rift for Augmented Reality.

How can crossing dimensions be a poor use of the oculus rift? This man has brought his fantasy into reality. Not even the softest sci-fi or fantasy does this
this is actually a very good implementation
yeah you guys criticize it for being hatsune miku, but it really wouldnt be that far off until we can start using the real world as a giant videogame/social interaction system with stuff like this
Ah, yes, I love my Parkinson's disease Waifu.
That's incredibly sad.
