Quake 3 got ported by fans with proper network support? Nice.
Well, this is neat as fuck, might even give it a try to play some games I really fucking miss, like MechAssault, also in regards to playing Halo and stuff, if you have the PC versions you can also play the original Halo and Halo 2 on the PC online, both of the official servers were shutdown, the Halo 2 PC version using Games for Windows Live, but they are now maintained by the community and all the jank from GFWL was taken out of Halo 2 as well.

Is it worth playing nowadays on PC?
XLink Kai has been around for years, hasn't it?
Homebrew for Xbox has been around for a decade too, yet a lot of people are unfamiliar with stuff like this, since it's often associated with piracy. I only know about stuff like XLink Kai and hamachi because I played pirated games (a decade ago, when AAA releases still had local network multiplayer) and hosted a Minecraft server for my friends, whilst not having a static IP
I mean I used Hamachi to create servers with my friends and shit in PC games, until now i never really thought about the fact that I could "technically" use a similar product with a lan capable console, I'm sure most people didn't really think about it.
XLink Kai has been around for years, hasn't it?
I was using it in 2005 to play halo without having an Xbox Live subscription. And Rainbow Six 3.
If you have a modded xbox 360 you can use a plugin for LiNK, dosent require any additional hardware and it all runs on the xbox its self.
Man Halo 2 was my bread and butter back when it came out. Countless hours logged in that fucking game, literally every day I came home after school I played that until 9 PM and on the weekends it was an all day affair. No wonder my grades sucked lol.
This kind of software has been around from atleast 2006, I remember getting xboxlive for my birthday, a whole years subscription and literally the day after I had spent all night playing halo 2 online, xboxlive received an update. Now go back a year or so and my dad had decided to chip the xbox to play certain games... The update only went and banned me from xboxlive forever for using a modded xbox. So I went online googling and searching like mad and I found this http://download.cnet.com/XBC-Xbox-Connect/3000-2121_4-10473024.html (I don't recommend downloading it from here though) xboxconnect, it's been around since 2006, I didn't know about xlink, but it sounds very similar.
God, I really need to do this! I loved Halo 2, probably THE definitive Halo multiplayer experience.

I wish people would play something other than Halo on XLink Kai. I just want to play some Project Gotham Racing.
i remember using this way back in the day to play timesplitters 2 online after the psn servers shut down for it.
