I'll elaborate;
This thread is pointless. Nobody gives a fuck what genres you consider obscure or that you know about them. Your likely intent was either to boast, or pander to some of the people who like similar genres.
I can make up a genre, say Nokiacore, and you would have no way to prove or disprove my shitty choice. Because it's so obscure. Sure, we could have a rousing discourse as to whether some shitty chiptune cover of "Hot Blooded" was better than the original, but that gets us nowhere.
Or I could just tell you that questions with limited legs like these belong in the chat thread. Fuck it, I'll be over here with this Nokia dropping some beats.

You'd think noise is obscure but it isn't.

Pffft, Nokiacore is so mainstream, Progressive Samsung is where it's at.

Dammit, I'll have to upgrade this work phone! It's been my creative outlet for so long, and I felt sure my latest power ballad was going to get airplay.

The most obscure music is chewing gum music. Put a microphone near your mouth and make tunes with chews.
Best genre ever.
"female vocalists" and "bands I've seen live" are some pretty weird genres I came across on Last.fm. And no matter how different two bands are, they can still find common ground in genres like these!!
OP, no bullshit, post up in this thread.
OT, a friend and I recorded ourselves farting into a tape player ages ago. There were occasional clipped bouts of laughter. I'm sure there is a genre for this.

Isn't that just tweenwave?

Dude, threads don't kill people. Relax mon.

Probably. It lacked the production value of Tokyo Anal Dynamite. We found it pretty innovative at the time, but it could have used some accompaniment.
I don't think they'll actually be regarded as genres. You'd think Chewing Gum music would be a genre but it'll probably be called "Experimental Body Music".
"Body Music" sounds like a pretty good name for it honestly.

Yeah, but it's definitely not obscure then. I know albums of Body music

I just wanted to know what was the most obscure genre that YOU(Meaning... The person reading this thread) know about...
metal
metal
What the hell is metal? Sounds a bit stupid to name a genre that, like naming a genre "liquid".
Progressive-Hardcore-Nu-Classical-Post-Avant-Garde-Indie-Thrash-Sludge-Psychedelic-Lowfi-Horrorcore-Backpacker-Nintendocore is where its at...

sludge
my favourite Last.FM genre on my cloud thingy is 'Kind of like Rap-Noise-Pop'
Pop is the most obscure genre I know of.
Pop is the most obscure genre I know of.
If Pop is popular there should be a genre for obscure.
Like ob.
I'd have to go with avant-garde jazzcore, a lot of people don't seem to know that genre.
Brazillian Baile Funk.
Mongolian throat-singing or Bulgarian folk-music. That or some really obscure Dark Ambient that scares the living shit out of me.
Post [del]alternative[/del] Ironic beard core i think it was. Not entirely sure about the name, But it should be something like that
Thanks strayebyrd for the info
