In some they are able to extract the actual cyst in its entirety without breaking the pouch. Cysts are usually in multiple layers. Most people who deal with them on their own always find them returning because they are just popping the outermost layer, which is usually blood and pus from the immune system attempting to attack it. The layer closest to the skin is more along the lines of a seriously bad boil. The actual cyst itself is just a pouch full of nasty, infected shit and as long as it is still there, the area will become infected again.

This is a fully excised cyst. In most cases it is preferable to attempt to extract it without rupturing, because rupturing can spread the infected tissue throughout the cavity and cause more harm than good without proper anti-bacterials.
