Hello guys
I have a plant and I wonder if my room light is okay to help it to grow.
It has flowers already, it's near 60 centimeters, and the weather in belgium is quite bad so I can't put it outside, is my room light okay to help it?
Thanks you guys
I know very little about this, but I'm pretty sure the lights used to grow weed are entirely different. For a start, they tend to be much higher wattage than your average incandescent, but I'm pretty sure they emit different frequencies too. You should probably look for a guide online.
I don't think a 60w incandescent is going to hurt, but I doubt it will do anything positive. Just my 2c.
It'll grow, but it'll be pretty basic-tier ganja. I've done it, you can grow with pretty much any light but it'll be nowhere near the token standard you're used to.
It will survive.. maybe. But it will have absolutely no energy for budding so it will be some weak shit weed.
To grow proper indoors you need either CFLs, LED, HPS or MH bulbs.
CFL(compact flourecent) is your regular white power saving bulbs, but your normal watt bulbs won't do shit and is probably 2700k (red) in color temperature which is best for flowering. So you'll need big 6500k (blueish/white) bulbs for vegging and even bigger ones for flowering. With CFL it's best to have several bulbs to cover the plant(s) since they have shit penetration strength.
LEDs are somewhat expensive, but is a good investment since they'll hold much longer than regular bulbs, and heat is not such a big issue. However there's so many different kinds and combinations, you'd do best to read exactly what would fit your needs. LED and HPS side by side grows have shown that LEDs lack a bit when it comes to flowering however. Fluffier buds and lighter buds.
HPS are high-pressure sodium lamps. They come in a range from 75-1000w I think and is ultimately the best/easiest for a homegrower to use today. They run hot however and you might need to invest more in proper exhaust and cooled hoods.
MH is metal halide and is pretty similar to HPS. Commonly used for vegetation phase cause of the blue spectrum light. HPS are very red/yellow in color.
That's a waste of a possibly beautiful plant, get a bunch of CFL bulbs and lamps and throw them all around the plant to get some light into it, ghetto but it works. Preferable if the lights are above it.
would one above with reflective painted walling (it begins with m, it's a paint that reflects better than aluminium foil but i can't remember the name of it) be good? i've seen set ups with three or so lights in different places
Mylar.

Mylar reflects the light but it won't be a significant difference if you're using a couple shitty low wattage CFL's that aren't even made for growing.

If you have it you should use it though.

You need a ballast for the bulb. But yes that light and reflector would work, those prices are really cheap. I have a reflector like that and I don't find it that great for my 1000w because it doesn't cool it at all(I'd prefer a hood) but for a 250w it should be fine just have a fan blowing the bulb to cool it down maybe.
