A woman in Arizona required emergency treatment after accidentally mistaking a bottle of superglue for her eye-drops -- and using it.
Irmgard Holm, who had cataract surgery last year, said she reached for her eye-drops and applied them without paying much attention to the bottle.
It was only when she felt a burning sensation that she was aware something was wrong - the next thing she knew her eye was stuck closed.
The unfortunate woman quickly phoned for an ambulance and paramedics were able to wash her eye out before the glue caused any major damage.
Irmgard now says she'd like to see glue makers change the shape of their packaging to avoid others being involved in similar accidents -- she should be glad she can see anything.
Fail?
Looks like that was a sticky situation.
Wow. She is stupid.
That had to suck. I'm already really squirmish when it comes to eyes and thinking about this makes me cringe.
I guess she didn't see that coming.
It's not the glue makers fault she's a dumbass and put her eyedrops and a glue bottle in the same general area.
Holy shit I can only imagine how much that burned, but seriously what a dipshit, what's the company going to say? We're sorry you didn't read the label! Let us change our whole design because you don't read labels.
Irmgard now says she'd like to see glue makers change the shape of their packaging to avoid others being involved in similar accidents -- she should be glad she can see anything.
Read the fuckin bottle maybe? How can someone be this stupid/lazy to not read the bottle before letting something drip out of it into your eye?

Yes because it's the superglue company's fault that you're a retard ok
Eh, another day in the life of a woman.
Should at least have a red tip on the bottle; I take eye drops every day to prevent myself from going blind, and I could see how this could happen with some glue brands if someone else left their glue near my eyedrops.

yeah or maybe you should read the label before you use them. Stop blaming everyone else for your stupidity.
Looks like she didn't see that one sticking.

She could mark it somehow with red tape or something... If she knows she sees bad if she doesnt take it then she SHOULD do it.
I guess she didn't see that coming.
Eye see what you did there.
My jaw dropped for a minute after reading the thread title.
That's fucked, I hope she's okay.

Why the disagrees? People actually hope her eyes are permanently stuck closed? You're sick.

It's still a good idea to have a red tip on this sort of thing. It's like with contact lens solutions, the saline has a white tip and the cleaning agent has a red one; it's not because everyone is stupid, it just prevents thoughtless accidents. If you watch yourself over a week, you'll notice you actually pick up and try to use a lot of objects in an inappropriate manner. Most of the time it just ends up making you look stupid, but sometimes things like this can happen.
It doesn't say she's suing the company or anything, she's just saying that they should have some sort of marking to distinguish it from prescription eyedrops, and if it's close enough where this sort of thing can happen, I agree.
*Cringe*
Hate to think what that must've been like.
Where's that .gif of Colbert freaking out, that's pretty much how I'd feel if I were her at the time.
Looks like she pulled a grand Elmers right there.

Probably something like getting superglue in your eye.
She probably did it just so she could sue them
I'm pretty sure the exact same thing happened in a Garfield strip I read, a few years ago.

She probably has a really bad sight and didn't wear her glasses while doing so. Still kinda stupid to put the bottle of superglue at the same place as the bottle of eye-drops.

This is interesting, I'll have to keep my eyes glued to the story as it develops.
A mod should sticky this thread so no one else has this happen to them.
