There is an art to making songs that have a constant to them. Notice how going from one dubstep song to another, although they follow the same general progression and BPM, are usually drastically different (unless you are Skrillex)? Same applies to Drum'n'Bass, which is where Pendulum excels.

As someone who use to insult them and now has all their songs, Pendulum is a mix. Yeah, they do some unique stuff - but other times, some songs sound similar to the point of boring. They generally use the same BPM and what have you; but do some original songs and pick them up from scratch. None of remixing a song by slapping bass wub wubs everywhere.
