I fucking shit my pants
my airplane
Holy shit, sitting on a flaming pile of kerosine is enough to make anyone shit ze pants.
It actually crashed pretty well
It's good to see the pilot wasn't blown to hell.
It shows that the pilot had good training.
Still under investigation, but a lot of people are saying it was the pilot's fault. Engines are still running and you can hear him increase throttle before the plane flares, so it looks like a failed approach to me. Shit happens, not even trained fighter pilots are perfect.
I think they have withdrawn the use of Harriers now (not because of this though)
It doesnt look like it was ment to be a crash landing, seems like he was going in way to fast or steep. But good that hes alive.
such is life at Camp Bastian
he does know they hover right ?
I wonder what they do to pilots who accidentally crash their aircraft. They are multi-million dollar aircraft after all. :ohdear:
It looks like he tried to make it go into a hover before he hit the runway, but something fucked up and it wouldn't move the thrust downward. I HIGHLY doubt that a trained combat fighter pilot would come in that fast and hit that hard. And considering the maneuverability of fighter planes its really impossible, if you notice your about to bounce off the ground, all you have to do is pull up and its no problem. Its not like a airliner where if you come in too fast you are pretty much fucked. It was not the pilots fault unless he was dunk or high, i would have ejected way before that guy did so maybe he was... idk
A BAE Harrier is not an AV-8B. For crying out loud..
I wonder why he didn't eject as soon as he hit the ground and as the plane burst into flames?
Bet he got a RIGHT bollocking for that.

im pretty sure most pilots aren't exactly chewed out if they avoid a near-death situation, unless they purposely crashed the jet
I find it fun when he ejects out :v:
I didn't think the body would withstand the impact that well.
They suck at using VTOL
I'm surprised how strong the plane's hull was.
