I like his intro, and his voice. I need him to record himself saying various things so that i might fall asleep while listening to it.
Wow kind of disapointing on the WiiU though. I wasnt really following it much. Hopefully Nintendo can work it out.
Well, he sold me on not getting a Wii U!

My expectations for it were pretty high, I expected this to be a good console. But it obviously runs current generation games worse than the actual current generation consoles, and can't even handle its own fucking menu, which is absolutely horrible because it's supposed to be next gen. And the controller screen is a good gimmick, but a gimmick nonetheless.

I didn't even continue watching after he demonstrated the awful shoulder button ergonomics. That's obviously something that would have been avoided if Nintendo was making a serious effort to appeal to the less casual audience again. I miss you Nintendo. The Nintendo that was good.
im guessing he did this before the major wii u update that fixed a ton of loading and system issues?
But it obviously runs current generation games worse than the actual current generation consoles
Launch/Near-Launch Ports tend to be fucking terrible on all new consoles because they are terribly optimized for the consoles.
i don't have the shoulder button issue he has either.
he's also doing the dumb thing of using the wii u youtube app to demonstrate youtube when the internet browser built on the wii u can do it so much better then the terrible excuse of that app. (it's essentially the terrible ps3 app ported to the wii u.)
Destructoid wrote a cool thing on the youtube/wii u browser intergration here:

I'm still excited to get one.
All the footage I've seen of ZombiU looks awful
Just looks fucking boring

The Game is cult fanbase status. The Sequel will probably streamline everything but i had a ton of fun on ZombiU. It's looking to be another assassins creed-sized series (The first one had issues and AC2 Fixed a ton of them)
it isn't ment to be a super fast zombie murder game like Left 4 Dead or Call of duty Zombies. it's a callback to the old survivor horror games like Resident evil and silent hill. Those games have ton of repetitiveness yet people still love them.
Revision3 has a good review of it, Polygon also loves it.

It's a pure survival horror game, it's not meant to be a shoot 'em up like L4D. Personally I'm having a fucking blast.
Anyways this video is obviously old and outdated, 'cuz many of the issues the guy experienced in the video were already patched and fixed.

And you can blame third party developers for that - Arkham City was a horrendously bad port that was slapped together for launch. Other games like ZombiU, NSMBU, Nintendo Land, and surprisingly Black Ops II actually run smooth as butter and look nice.
The only bad thing I noticed is how long it loads.
I love the fact that even when hes reviewing the wii u and he still has the sensor bar from poundland.
Gotta love ashens!
The only bad thing I noticed is how long it loads.
The latest system update (which auto-downloads in the background) actually improves loading times alot.
Wii U is fucking awesome, might not be next gen graphics but still.
Getting the console because of these games:
- New Super Smash
- ZombiU
- New Zelda
- Zelda remake
- Pikmin 3
- LEGO Undercover (aka GTA in LEGO style)
- Its a Wii as well because it can play every Wii game.
- CoD BLOPS 2 for its local Zombie mode
These are enough reasons for me to get the new Wii U
[editline]17th December 2012[/editline]
Also nintedoland for its local co op, shits awesome
The AC3 bugs isn't the WiiU, its the game.
On 360 my sister has had to restart it about 4 times in one play, the game didn't freeze it just stopped working, Conner wouldn't move she could open menus thats it.
This is pretty much a case of software that needs to be updated, and developers that need to get their heads around a new console.
At moments he sounds a lot like Yahtzee from Zero Punctuation.
Three hour battery life? Why even make it wireless?
Also, with those load times the 32 GB version could very well matter, depending on the version of the USB ports and how well it handles external storage devices.

Most people keep it connected to a cord anyway. You get 2 AC adapters.

I think nintendo was planning on people replacing the battery with something bigger.
i mean it's so easy to replace the battery and the battery compartment is like twice the size of the battery thats in there.
I think ill buy a Nyko Battery pack for it, it extends the life to 12 hours.
I think the load times are just a case of bad software, they have 1 whole GB for the system to stay loaded so it should not take that long.
I'm not getting the wii u unless they create more original ips on it. Nintendo relies far to much on their established series.
The Wii U seems like a laughing stock to me. I don't consider it next-gen.
I think the load times are just a case of bad software, they have 1 whole GB for the system to stay loaded so it should not take that long.
and as i said above, a recent firmware update fixes the loading times.

Yeah, the wii u kinda reeks of lazy design gimmicks IMO. All it's got going for it are slightly above average specs and a gimmicky controller screen thing. I don't get why people are defending it so much.
Their next console will be the U 2
i still want a Wii U either way.
I think the main reason is the gamepad. The gamepad is something new which game developers can use to create new creative things. It might be gimmicky, but it's still nice. Also, Nintendo games in HD.
Also the fact that you can play the games with the gamepad screen is cool as fuck.
I got it because exclusives, which is usually what I do with pretty much every nintendo console. Playing legend of zelda, mario kart, hopefully super mario galaxy, animal crossing, metroid, all that shit in HD is worth the price tag IMO.
The Wii U seems like a laughing stock to me. I don't consider it next-gen.
Not quite sure it's meant to be, really.. It's like Nintendo's a generation behind, finally putting out a rival to the Xbox and PS3 as they're on their way out...
It is, however, cheap. Considering the true Next-gen consoles are going to be selling for "Five hundred and ninety-nine US dollars" or thereabouts, it's a great little thing to pick up for your kids who want a new console but you don't have that kind of cash to blow.
And besides, Nintendo always has some of the best first-party titles. That's always been their strong point, and I think we'll see a lot of cool, innovative stuff out of them. Personally, I want a new Mario Party.
