A Des Moines woman has been charged with Election Misconduct, a Class D felony, after allegedly voting twice for GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump. Terri Rote says she was afraid her first ballot for Trump would be changed to a vote for Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.
"I wasn't planning on doing it twice, it was spur of the moment," says Rote. "The polls are rigged."
Shows that the ballots are being monitored well for fraud this year as it was caught quickly

Because they can't change the second vote if it is really rigged, there's an honor system.
The polls are rigged
:unimpressed:
The polls are always rigged when they arent in the favor of my chosen candidate too.
How ironic.
What a fucking world we live in.
:unimpressed:
i guess if you are a dumb voter the logic makes sense. if hilary is committing voter fraud by making dead people vote 15 times why not try to level the playing field by committing fraud yourself
Des Moines is in the news and it's for pro Trump voter fraud.
I swear guys, my city isn't full of crazy people :v:
Idiots are idiots.
:unimpressed:
Onion writers must be seriously fearing for their jobs by now.
Are we going to see a whole wave of "I voted twice but it's Ok cause the election is already rigged"? What a joke.
Sure hope not.
and if we do, is there someone who has a platform, a public platform where they speak openly about how the elections are rigged despite not having any evidence of that? Is there anyone pushing that view point as a serious one to hold despite the fact it's entirely baseless?
Ah yes, there is someone who's threatening the peaceful transition of democratic power

It isn't first voter fraud, didn't one dude voted many times for Clinton using dead peoples name/IDs?
Thanks Trump. Now you have everyone thinking the voting system is actually rigged and committing voter fraud. :goodjob:
do both votes get discarded or just the fraudulent one?
When I saw the title, I was expecting something a little more significant than "Stupid Idiot votes twice"
:unimpressed:
Well, she's not wrong.
"I wasn't planning on doing it twice, it was spur of the moment," says Rote. "The polls are rigged."
Woman who thinks polls are rigged attempts to rig polls.
Wait, I feel like I made a post eerily similar to this not too long ago...
why do people think the polls and the actual election are synonymous

Sure, if you're only capable of literal thinking, but "the polls" generally refers to the media-run unofficial polls. There's only one official government poll - the election itself. And that's the only one that actually counts.
Of course the polls are rigged. They're rigged in favor of whoever that particular pollster wants for president. In a normal election cycle, you'd have polls rigged for the Dems and polls rigged for the Repubs. What we're seeing with the polls is the same bias they've more or less always had. It just seems overwhelmingly Clinton because Trump is really that undesirable. You can rig the polls any which way you prefer, it has no bearing on the election itself. All you'll be doing is tampering with the guesswork that poll aggregators like FiveThirtyEight or RealClearPolitics do, and they have a hard enough job as it is this year.

No prob

How do you know?
(That is most likely how they'd respond to such a statement)
Overall I feel bad for her a little, Trump keeps saying how things are rigged and she genuinely believed him- I imagine seeing this happen a few times during this election, all of which similarly led to believe such farce

so you're saying that when trump says he won't accept losing the election and that the polls are rigged, he's just innocently referring to opinion surveys?

poorly maintained voter registration isn't the same thing as voting fraud
so you're saying that when trump says he won't accept losing the election and that the polls are rigged, he's just innocently referring to opinion surveys?
I'm saying they're rigged, but the fact that they are has no actual bearing on the election itself.
If Trump loses, it's because the American public doesn't want him (and rightfully so), not because CNN made sure Clinton came out ahead in their scoreboards.
The polls are rigged so i will rig it myself
