So I have taken some time to learn the basics to video editing with Sony Vegas. Over the weekend I made a Battlefield 3 edit/montage which needs to be critiqued. The music I used was pretty outlandish and not very many people like it. Next time, I'll use more universal music that has a chance of pleasing more people. I need to get some better kills, and not keep interrupting killstreaks with blinks all the time, and I also need to show kills which are a bit more interesting. Anyways, here's the video: [sp] 1080p [/sp] [video=youtube;IihfAJ2GECA]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IihfAJ2GECA[/video] I am aware that it isn't perfect, but my drive is to get better. If you will, please leave constructive C&C, it'd be a big help. Thanks.
Well, the biggest problem is that it takes over a minute to see a kill. [editline]e[/editline] You really shouldn't slowdown the parts INBETWEEN kills, it just drags on longer than it should. [editline]e[/editline] It takes about a full 10 seconds at 2:07 to watch you knife a single guy.
[B]Warning all viewers:[/B] Its a frag video.

Obnoxious intro, terrible editing, terrible song choice, unimpressive kills. F- see me after class.

If you think you can do better dont make up excuses and just do better the first time, instead of make crap the first time just to show it off quicker.

Choose music that isn't shit next time. [editline]5th November 2012[/editline] Also, don't take this "In nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti" and just take the "Spiritus Sancti" or Holy Ghost part and make it the title.
Okay, here's my input on C&C First and foremost the major problem is the footage itself, when trying to show extreme longshots like in the intro keep the camera still or pan the camera across IF you can do it smoothly. Secondly, if you're going to do slowdown effects remember to keep the frame rate of that footage AT LEAST 30% more of the actual video. This gives you some leeway for the slowdown and it becomes less apparent in the final output, so if you record at 30 fps and render at 24 fps you can slow down the footage about 30% without stagger. You also need to work on selecting music that matches the content, and that brave-heart? remix doesn't match the content that you recorded. Also when editing between two kills, speed it up a bit helps give the video a sense of emergency, and be sure to make sure that a cut between two pieces of footage matches both the background sounds and music. Just my two cents.
Thanks, good input
i love how frag videos always have dubstep, its like adding shit icing to shit cake. seriously though, its an alright video but like many others said there are too many delays between kills to make it even bearable.
