This is great, but I wasn't aware the old way (with that big air-filled black thing that goes around your arm) was inaccurate.

It's not, but using this way in conjunction with the traditional way they can monitor blood pressure close to the heart, which apparently gives a more accurate reading to base treatment off of.
Thought this was about implementing your blood pressure into games. That would be fucking awesome. :v:
So this one doesn't feel like it's going to crush your arm?

No, then I can't cheat at "fitness" games :saddowns:
Well if it's something that doesn't crush my arm, then it's clearly better.
Welch Allyn has some work to do...
I fucking HATE having to do it with a cuff. It's really hard (if not impossible) to hear shit on the back of a moving ambulance going down a bumpy road, while the patient is moving all about and talking.
In a nice, quiet environment, it's not hard at all, as long as the person has their arm straight and isn't talking or moving around and has a good pulse.
Sometimes I wonder why the station doesn't spend the 10 extra dollars for a good automatic one. Hell, it's not about laziness. It's about accuracy. Blood pressure in emergency medicine means everything in terms of how the patient is going to be treated.

My girlfriend has a heart condition that has to do with low blood pressure.
Here's hoping it could make tests more accurate so they can finally get a diagnosis on her. :unsmith:

Paramedic is my backup plan in life if I don't get my shit together soon
You guys are great, seriously
What is the difference between in the news and the news node?

It takes absolute, unadulterated, and clear dedication to become a paramedic. I forgot how long the course is. I want to say six months... but I'm not 100 percent. It's 5 days a week pretty much all day.
End result is you're basically a cardiologist without the ability to do surgery.
I would become an EMT first and see how you like it.
