In 2027, in a chaotic world in which humans can no longer procreate, a former activist agrees to help transport a miraculously pregnant woman to a sanctuary at sea, where her child's birth may help scientists save the future of humankind.
Children of Men was only a moderate financial success, but attracted positive reviews from critics and acclaim from filmgoers. The film was recognised for its achievements in screenwriting, cinematography, art direction, and innovative single-shot action sequences, receiving three Academy Award nominations and winning two BAFTA awards. It has gone on to take many accolades after its release, with many critics and associations recognizing it as a contemporary sci-fi classic.
This movie is truly one of the best of all time. An epic journey through a ravished world. I strongly believe that it is a must-see for everyone everywhere.

indeed, amazing movie
One of my top 5 favorite movies.
I remember when this was advertised was too young to see it :sigh: i thought it looked really good though.
Pull my finger.
This is such a good movie. I think its beyond opinions and anyone who says they don't like it or doesn't get it is either a moron or has terrible taste.
Just watch. Its a spoiler but it will convince you to watch the movie.

I almost cried at that part :(
the part where they're in the building full of refugees at the end was pretty amazing

and yeah I remember that part ._.
The long take when Clive Owen is traveling through the building; while getting shot at, is pretty intense.
Favorite Clive Owen movie
Anyone else read the book?
Was boring to me. Mind you I do normally like slower, well written movies. :frown: But I was told I would love it the second time around.

But this is well written. You have no taste.

I read the book. Fucking fantastic, but I can't seem to get myself into any of P.D. James' other novels. Tried reading Death of an Expert Witness, and just couldn't immerse myself into the world she placed me in. It was the complete opposite with The Children of Men.
This film is so well done, and I actually accidentally picked it up and thought it looked interesting, so I rented it. Was so surprised afterwards at how great it was. This movie opened me up to film and cinematics, because it was the first film that absolutely WOW'd me without any prior knowledge of it. Easily in my top five best films, alongside Dr. Strangelove and A Clockwork Orange, of course.
I love this movie so much, now I want to watch it again.
Exceptionally good movie, an overlooked gem.
A recommended watch for anyone.

Ditto
This movie was skipped in the Grammys and Academys it's sad something so great, was just ignored and less good movies got awards. It truly saddens me as this is one of the top movies I've ever seen, behind Inglourious Basterds.
Fucking awesome film.

You are an idiot. I have no taste because my taste doesn't conform to yours.
Great movie - really beautifully shot, and I enjoyed the book even more. I liked that atmosphere of a long, solemn voyage (more prominent in the book). Similar theme in "Y tu mamá también" (another excellent movie from the same director).

This film is a fantastic work of art! Everybody needs to watch it!

No, you're the idiot for calling this masterpiece boring.

Just because you don't get the plot, doesn't mean the movie is bad.
does he make sex lot

Did I say the movie was boring? I said I found it boring. Difference. Some people could say that Transformers 2 was the most action packed film they have ever seen. While another person could say they found it boring because there was nothing but explosions the whole time. Its a matter of opinion.
I liked it but the only part I would watch again is when they're running around the battlefield.
Sweet film. I only saw it for the first time a few weeks ago.

instead of splitting hairs and arguing about semantics you could try admitting there was a lack of clear communication on your end
the movie isn't boring, shut the fuck up
I was disappointed when I found that several of the "long shot scenes" were actually seperate shots edited into one long. But awesome movie nonetheless.
At least the final scene, the 6 minute long, is not multiple shots edited to one.
