Well, I thought we could really use a general chat thread on food. Thought it'll be great for rants and shit like that.
I really dislike people always treating french food as 'ONLY FOR RICH PEOPLE' kind of food. It annoys me. How they always try to make it all high class. And I hate restaurants always trying to do that.
And non-french food places like bistros trying to put in words like 'La', 'petit', 'cuisine', or any other french words just to make it more fancy and shit like that.
Oh, and celeb chefs restaurants are just overrated. Well most of them.
Italian food
Everyone is always going on and on about their fucking Italian grandmother who made all this excellent food and there's nothing like it in the fucking world. I resent that. Many cultures (namely Eastern European and Middle Eastern) have excellent food that everyone I know simply refuses to try!
Also, the slant against vegetarian foods is abhorrent. I'm not a vegetarian, but I still love a variety of vegetarian foods.

Georgian/Bukharaian food=best food
I have yet to eat a Georgian meal that didn't taste like the best thing ever
I'm always looking for new recipes! If you've got any I'd love to see 'em!

Give it a shot! Post results!
Whenever I make burgers I put minced carrots and really finely chopped celery in them, and simmer them in Marmite broth with a few bay leaves and some marjoram.

dont crunch them up
just stick them under the bun
I think he meant broken up and mixed into the meat like bread crumbs. Atleast that's what I thought he meant.
I think if you just mix the bread crumbs into the meat that they will just get soggy when cooking or even just in the process of putting it into the meat.
Sea Salt & Vinegar chips inside of an already cooked and set hamburger are delicious, though. :>

Thats the one. Thanks very much!
Interesting community you got here in the cooking section, I wish I had explored it sooner.
I'm looking for some good American dips for a cheese / sausages serving. I found some onion dip that I liked, any other suggestions? Bacon dip didn't turn out well
does it have to be American? Chutney is very good with cheese.
Nah others are fine
No Alcohol/Beer discussion thread? I am so disappointed.

There's an alcohol thread in the main FP General Discussion forum, I feel like it's out of place there, though.
If only GD wasn't a shit hole.
CURRY CURRY CURRY!
This part of the forums is rather dead, it is a forum sort of dedicated to Garry's mod so I'm not sure what I was expecting there.
Do we have any curry eaters in here? Any curry cookers? This is one of my passions in life, cooking and eating top grade curry. Is it worth sticking up a curry tutorial on here or am I wasting my time? Gamers often survive on a diet of tea/coffee and snacks/takeaways.
Indonesian curry is quite tasty. My dad makes a killer curry dish called opor ayam. It's basically chicken boiled in coconut milk + herbs such as lemongrass.
I love me some good curry.
I wouldn't mind seeing your methods, either.
Had an absolutely amazing doner the other day, I don't know what it is about eastern food (well, cuisine between the middle east and India) that makes it so amazing. The combination of beef, hommus, garlic sauce, tabbouleh, onions and lettuce is just so perfect.
I felt ashamed waiting in line for it though, because the chick infront of me got a chicken kebab with sour cream, sweet chilli, cheese, tomato and lettuce and also asked for salt and pepper. I mean why not just go to subway and get that. You go to a turkish kebab shop and get the most un-turkish thing there.

Some of the curry style stuff from south east asia are fantastic. Its sort of a halfway between curry and chinese and tends to be more aromatic. During my travels in Cambodia we tested out a sort of curry dish called Amok and that was killer. Malasia had some awesome food also.
I didn't have much for food but needed to make something.
I stir fried some red and orange bell peppers, onions, garlic and zucchini with a bit of soy sauce, honey hoison and sriracha.
While that was cooking, I made some quinoa and brown rice.
It was pretty delicious as I started eating it, but the more I ate the more I felt something is missing. I have no idea what though.
I'm going to go down and find some shit to add until it's better, and then finish it.
Edit:
I think what is wrong with it is that I accidently made enough rice and quinoa for 2 people, and decided to throw it all in with my veggies anyway. That, and I can't taste all the different ingredients individually that well. Shoulda just ate it when I had only first put in half the rice and quinoa.
I love baklava. If only it was easier to make and wasn't so expensive...
