Trailer: Gameplay preview: What do you all think? Looks interesting
it's literally fucking tf2.
Feels like a mix of monday night combat, counter strike, and smite.

Also is it me, or did that trailer feel very very Pixar, or almost like how Big Hero 6 looks?
it's literally fucking tf2.
"Oh hey valve i saw you took dota, hope you don't mind if we borrow your game too. thanks" also, tracer & bastion master race
that Hearthstone cameo though
Trailer looks like a Pixar movie
it's literally fucking tf2.
The only similarity is the cartoony artstyle, and even then Blizzard has done it longer than valve :v: [editline]7th November 2014[/editline]
Stop thinking of it as "oh look at all the classes". There are two factions with a set of unique characters that fit similar roles. It's a very easy to understand system if you stop thinking it's like TF2 (it has very few similarities). Widowmaker and Hanzo for example are very clearly cross faction rivals. They're both 'the sniper', but they have different utility, enough to be different characters with their own playstyles. Reinhardt and Winston are also very clear examples of this. They both fill the role of 'the tank', much like the heavy does, but they do it in different fashions. One seems to be a rather mobile smash and grab type character, while the other is very clearly designed for being in the center of shit 24/7. Bastion and Pharah are your 'assault' class, with Bastion being high rate of fire low mobility, and Pharah being quite the opposite.
If they make the game more fast phased (like Unreal Tournament/Quake Live) im buying it. In its current form the game looks so slow and bulky for its genre. Tracer and Pharah is, by the looks of it, the only characters with a high skill ceiling at the moment judging from the trailer.
Lots of girl characters in this one. Feels like a nice change.
Looks like Heroes of the storm is gonna get canned...
I'm a huge sap for games with cartoony artstyles, but this game just doesn't tickle my fancy for some reason. I can't explain it.
okay I guess I'm just gonna be the first to say it It looks very cool, and I would be very excited to have the chance to try it out. If you think that nobody is allowed to make a non-realistic art style fps without being "tf2 ripoff" than you just sound like a sour Valve fanboy grasping at straws.
Looks like Heroes of the storm is gonna get canned...
They're two completely different genres.
Might be unbalanced if only certain classes are allowed on one team.
They're two completely different genres.
Though I wouldn't be shocked if Blizzard decided to focus on this game more, particularly because HotS was and is received as "ah another moba" while many people who look into it further than "hurr durr it's tf2 but cluttered" actually have high interest in this game. Overwatch seems infinitely more profitable in the long run, but hey I'm not Blizzard so it's all speculation

But yes, I can see what you mean. I love the trailer for its pixar-esque style.
Better quality trailer here: [hd]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FqnKB22pOC0[/hd]
Might be unbalanced if only certain classes are allowed on one team, while other ones are allowed on the other one.
Not even kind of, there's no indication in what we've seen so far of one character trumping another without being immediately countered by another character from the opposing faction. If anything, this is the superior way to create a team based game, as it allows for fantastic variety while still maintaining balanced based around the archetypes each character fills
They're two completely different genres.
as a moba heroes of the storm is kind garbage imo. The balance is off and the mechanics are odd. It just doesn't feel good enough as other games in the same genre that has perfected the formula. If you took out the fact that you get to play as your favorite Blizzard character against one-another, you're just left with a sub-par game
It's also possible everyone will just ignore it like Brink or Monday Night Combat
Brink died immediately for being poorly made and MNC died because Hi-Rez dropped it instantly We have no gauge for the quality of this game beyond the fact that Blizzard consistently puts out at least good games, and as their first non-craft game in like 14 years you know damn well they're not just gonna fuck around with it.

I don't mind the TF2 resemblance at all given that it went to shit and hopefully this one turns out to be good and won't end up in a costume party.
I dropped MNC because I thought it was very slow-paced and kind of boring
That flash/teleporter girl I think would be so much fun to play.
The classes look interesting, if not overcomplicated. Really can't pin what game the art style's from, which is weird. It feels unoriginal, but it has a bit of Dishonored combined with some Tribes Ascend, TF2, and Smite. It's really not an unoriginal artistic direction, but it just feels stale because it's similar to too many other games.
Zenyatta looks so cool I don't even care if I don't like support classes. Reaper and Bastion look fun to play with too.
Game looks pretty fun, though it worries me how easy enemies die. Well see in the beta I guess
