"The diagnosis is a malignant liposarcoma," said Cohen, which is a form of cancer that arises in fat cells in deep soft tissue; it is, Cohen said, a rare and difficult tumour to treat. "It has about 60 different cell types and that's what makes it a very rare tumour and a very difficult tumour," he said. "We have not found cancer" in Ford's organs, Cohen noted, later adding that the tumour appears "very aggressive" based on its size after its recent discovery and that it has been growing since well before that, but Cohen added that the treatment plan is also aggressive, involving an initial three-day chemotherapy treatment and subsequent 40-day cycles over the treatment plan, which he said is to begin within the next 48 hours.
This guy cannot get a break
Fuck man. I know people give Rob Ford a lot of shit, but no one deserves that, at all. I sincerely hope that the treatment they're putting him through helps him. Fuck man. Despite what politics you believe in, he might have been an alright guy.
I'm sure it's a rare form of cancer that requires him to smoke crack to manage it.
Poor guy.
Some said the cancer had something to do with his Fat cells. Never heard of Fat cell cancer, Strange.
Is he still serving as mayor though, I mean he seems like way too preoccupied to even argue that he can do his job
Is he still serving as mayor though, I mean he seems like way too preoccupied to even argue that he can do his job
The election is literally in a month. He's basically not mayor anymore, as City Council isn't doing anything until after the election.
Some said the cancer had something to do with his Fat cells. Never heard of Fat cell cancer, Strange.
That was probably someone making a fat joke because liposarcoma affects all soft tissues.
Hope he's alright. Honestly seems like a nice guy from the footage I've seen of him regardless of his competence as a politician
That was probably someone making a fat joke because liposarcoma affects all soft tissues.
It's called liposarcoma for a reason. Lipo meaning fat and sarcoma meaning cancer (of the connective tissues). Literally "fat cancer." The national post reports it's in his abdomen.
Relax, its obviously a joke. Even if you don't like it, which is fine; stop bringing attention to it and move on. I don't know Ford and I don't think he was the best Mayor from what I've seen, but I wish him well.
I wouldn't at all be surprised if his drug and alcohol use had something to do with this cancer. They're pretty stressful for your body, and IIRC when your body is overstressed it has a harder time dealing with diseases.
Possibly caused by smoking crack made by a fool in a basement, jus sayin. Hopefully the cells respond to the chemo
Some said the cancer had something to do with his Fat cells. Never heard of Fat cell cancer, Strange.
Well there's a reason why it's rare.
