The Conservatives promised a vote on repealing the Hunting Act - which bans the use of dogs to hunt foxes and wild mammals in England and Wales - during the 2017 general election campaign. But Mrs May told the BBC's Andrew Marr Show there was a "clear message" against it from the public. It comes as the prime minister prepares to reshuffle her cabinet on Monday. In July, shortly after the government lost its majority in the election, it backed away from the manifesto promise, saying there would not be a vote held until at least 2019.[/quote]
Why is this even considered in the first place? Unless you hunt for your own game as food, or you have a farm to control for pest control, or to keep a population in check, hunting of any form as a sport is just a terrible practice, and a waste of resources, and damaging to ecosystem.
Wow, the government listening to the people? Glad there's a bit of good news
Well at least there are some world leaders with decency left.
Good. Fox hunting in the form the Tories were trying to push for has absolutely nothing to do with population control or protecting livestock; civilized farmers tend to use shotguns or hunting rifles for that sort of thing.

If the Tories still had a majority in parliament, there probably would have been a vote.

She even had the guts to say it was the most humane form of hunting. Sadly there's people who still illegaly hound hunt and it seems like nothing is done about it.
I think if you wanna hunt something that isn't endangered, go for it. But using dogs? I can't support that, if you don't have the courage to kill it yourself then hunting isn't for you.

I Suggest checking out these pages (facebook) just to see how inhumane these people are. Just be warned, they may contain graphic images of dead animals. Whilst I don't agree with them going after the police for doing their jobs, the pages are enlightening. What these people do isn't hunting, it's torture. Often they chase a fox which has been pre-caught inside an enclosed area to prevent the fox from having a chance of escaping, but even when they're chasing uncaught foxes they run the animals to exhaustion before letting the dogs tear the fox apart. Proper fox hunting, how I was thought to do it is to lay nets on the exits to their den and use the dogs to flush the fox out and once you catch the fox you break its neck to kill it as quickly and painlessly as possible. All hunting involves a degree of stress inflicted upon the animal, the animal knows you're trying to kill it, the best a hunter can do is to make the process as quick and painless as possible.
It's kind of baffling that the Tories thought that this would ever go other well.
It's a shame that's the only thing that's gotten through her thick skull.
good, now let's go and do the spanish in for their bullfighting, it's about time we did
