Just because of some small potatoes weed habit. But it's pretty damn hard to take him seriously when he then proceeds to snort 4 or five lines of the methadone pills he's crushed up and stares off with a stupid look on his face.
No matter how much my family tries to sell this idea of me being an addict ill always notice my bro's long white plate with a straw on it and leftover methadone powder lining the sides of it. And my moms bottle of benzos that she occasionally gets fucked up on.
While all i do is buy a gram and chill the fuck out either doing schoolwork or watching some funny ass shows on my computer. It's just beyond me why they think they have any right to talk when they all do far worse and more addictive shit than weed could ever be.
Fuck i need to move out of this hypocritical den of judgers.
does he consider himself a drug addict too?
Educate them about weed, show them bar graphs and shit that compare the addictiveness of weed to some of the shit they do, espec alcohol, it very weird how some people can see someone supporting a full time booze habit and not bat an eye yet completely go into intervention mode whenever someone mentions they smoke weed, It show how misinformation and misguidedness has morphed what in society is supposed to be "right" into something that's completely insane.
It doesn't matter how many times people say 2+2=5, you know what's true and you should try to convince them

Probly not, but i bet if anything he could not go more than a 2 or 3 days without snorting his opiates. It all just feels like projection on his part. I bet if i challenged him to go a week without it he'd either tell me to shut the fuck or make some kind of excuse, cause that would prove who's the real addict around here.

It's not that they're ignorant about weed it's more like a warped view of what the term addict means and the projection of his own addiction problems onto me.
Opiates are just not comparable to weed as far as addictivity goes, that I'm sure of.
but I mean if he's sniffing methadone every few days, he's most certainly addicted to opiates, although that addiction is MUCH more physical. I'd say just try and understand that your bro is prolly going through a lot of stress without admitting it, being addicted to opiates can be very hard, especially if he's still in the denial stage. and opiates can make you a huge asshole sometimes, If he was good with you prior, then it might just be this addiction talking and not how he actually feels about you. Or he could be a big dickhead, I don't claim to know, and either way he still shouldn't be saying what he's saying, just try to see both sides is all.

He's always been kind of a douche, but he snorts them multiple times each and every day so it's hard to take his assertions of me being an addict seriously.
I'd say you most likely want to leave that house. I don't know how your brother is on opiates. I know from my personal experience that I can get really violent on it and be a massive asshole. Doesn't happen at all anymore though thanks to good old meditation.

Id really like to leave, but damn this 15 month lease im singed onto. And he's got a prescription that he's somehow able to keep filling but god forbid if theres any cash left for me around here.
You guys all need to stop getting fucked up. I mean you are pretty responsible but if you all were clean, you'd be equal, and no more abuse. Maybe you could start smoking again when you get to college.

If anything i need to move out and not be around people who wanna make out my bud use to be something it's not.
Well that is a good idea, but I'm guessing not possible, so you guys should just sober up.

Maybey i need to present this in a different way, Here's how it pretty much goes down around this house:
Brother: "you need rehab!"
*Proceeds to snort 5 lines of methadone*
Me:
Well I don't see what else you can do. You probably can't change his mind, so every time he calls you an addict just draw a big red circle around the fact that he's the one snorting the synthetic opioid and disregard what he says. He'll either stop denying it eventually or he'll continue spouting an opinion that is to be disregarded. What's the problem? :v:

If only,
But i think he believes it's different for him due to past medical issues despite the fact he's not even supposed to have it due to some heart stuff going on. It may also be due to his past addiction problems and his false notion that because he got tired of the herb at my age so will i. Even though we are different people with very different ideas about life.
If i was truley considered an equal in my house and he thought i was worth debating with his argument would pretty be:
"bu but mah pain management!"
railing that shit multiple times throughout the days goes far beyond that purpose.
Gah i need out of this shithole
Uh yeah, you don't snort it for pain management.

He is seriously in denial and Dr. Housing the shit out of it.
I really don't see any way of convincing them. This seems like the type of people who need a fucking eye opening experience in order to even consider that they have a drug problem. Your mom for example probably doesn't even think twice about popping pills by her doctor because well he's a doctor. Your brother just sounds like a dickhead who is oblivious to his own problems and blames it on others. I don't want to be that asshole and say to just dip from your family but until they have some life altering event from the drugs, they won't think they have a problem and you'll be stuck with it.

Your probably right, my mom thinks we both have a problem despite me not having smoked for damn near two weeks now and im perfectly functioning. Highly doubt he could go a few days without his precious opiates though.
You just need to tough it out until you move out. It may seem like shit now but in a few years once you're out all of this drama, or at least most of it, it will just be a memory. They can't nag at you from miles away.
