Me and a friend once jokingly wrote an email to an eastern european supplier of tanks and other old soviet equipment, and told them we wanted to buy a T-72. They actually offered to pick us up the airport of Prague and give us a test drive in the tanks.

The one thing I need to figure out is what the process is for importing it to the US.

it's not street legal. Tank treads and probably no turn signals. Otherwise fine. This kind of tank actually only costs about $30,000. You can get some Soviet ones for even cheaper, and British AFVs can be had for as little as $12,000.
