Back in the day it was a show that parodied the 'hardcore' dickheads you'd run into on servers, and it was about one of those guys who became a better person through meeting new folks and whatnot. The original show had some ongoing cringey things (shooting energy balls at each other and stuff) but all in all it was pretty great. Started off slow but ended up brilliant. The guys who are making it have been pretty hard gamers for a couple of decades so this isn't some corporate thing where they're trying to mimic a culture they don't know about. If there are cringey bits it's because they're looking at the cringey bits of gamer culture, not because they're ignorant

Im so fucking hype for this. Loved the original and the TV series and I even managed to meet Jarett and Kyle at IEM when they were filming. It was amazing, though I was freaking out because he was one of those people I want to meet before I die. We talked for a bit and then he offered me and few of my friends a role in the movie but sadly because nobody from the security knew about what's happening on the stage so late we got thrown out before we could get to the set.
