Car windows are deceivingly difficult to break, it's why many police/emergency crew carry glass breakers with them.

It's really hard to break a car window by hitting it in the center. The corners are weakspots.
This confuses the fuck out of me, because I punched through my car window like an asshole one night with one single punch while I was pissed off. I had one ring on so maybe all the force I exerted was narrowed enough to the point of being effective glass breaker?

That's exactly it. If theres less surface area, all the pressure is applied to a specific area rather than being spread out.

When you punched your window all of the force you exerted was put into the tiny pin-point tip of where your ring touched the glass.
He's putting the brunt of the effort required to break the window onto his wrists. He's swinging his baton in a way that almost none of the force is going into the window, its just bouncing off.
