Audio will be better next time! Anyway, I'm doing Sapphire because I need footage of the original games for another video. Thoughts?
crop facecam and make it smaller
-snip-
Facecam are pretty meh, but of course that's only my opinion.
Film yourself if you're going to act during your video, or have something worthwhile to show. Otherwise you're just like the other Let's player that just use the facecam for "lol spooky face because something scary has happened"

I did use it for a thing or two while I filmed. Remember, it's my first time.
Best advice I can give you: Be yourself. It's cliche, but its always the best way.

Thanks! That vid was 1000% me, I'm not trying to overforce anything.
Your main focuses should be being yourself, not forcing ANYTHING, and filling dead air.
It isnt a bad start, so work and improve and you'll be good.
Personally, I feel the Facecam is completely unnecessary and detracts immensly from the purpose of the series. If this does tie in in a sort of pseudo-comedic series on Nintendo, I don't honestly think a Facecam is all too necessary. As well, it does cover a large portion of the screen, and while the background and your camera's quality are nice, they don't really add much when the focus is obviously on the smaller screen in the top right of the corner. My suggestion would to just remove the Facecam entirely, unless you want to start playing games where facial reactions add to the value of the game. However, Pokemon is not one of those games. Secondly I'd like to just comment on your general humour style. It seems to be a sort of shy and forced attempt at constant sarcasm and cynicism. You poke fun at a lot of game engine issues, but there isn't much you can do with that. Like I said, it seems like you are really forcing the humour. When not making a joke, you read out text aloud, and while this isn't exactly a bad thing, most of us can read. You can, during this time, make some informative banter about the game. At times, you seem to stutter and mix words up when trying to read aloud, so I'd just focus on getting more comfortable in front of the camera and finding some real enthusiasm.
You also have to realize you're up against some steep competition. Recently, Gamegrumps began making a Pokemon Let's Play, so you're really opening yourself up to almost direct comparison. I won't lie, whereas I can watch Gamegrumps and feel like a 14 minute episode is going by too quickly, I watched this and felt it drag on and on. Honestly, try and just focus on doing what you do best. If humour isn't your thing, focus on being informative and witty, and if you'd still like to stay in the realm of comedy, try a few methods to be comfortable in front of the cameras. Try not to read everything aloud, and don't comment on every minute aspect of the game. If you can, bring in some friends to help, because honestly, Let's Plays that are done in the "sit down and play by yourself" aspect are boring.
Just my two cents.

I put the Facecam in because I'm a very physical person. I like to make faces and such, so I guess it adds a bit to the video. In later episodes, when I'm not laughing at ridiculous stuff in the game, I'll start to get more in-depth about Pokemon and why I like it. This series is me getting gameplay for a review of the games and having a bit of fun during the process.
As for Game Grumps, I'm not competing. But hey - at least I know my shit with Pokemon. At least I don't talk to the same guy 19 times to find out where to go lol.
At least make the Facecam smaller.
Facecam only works in scary games I think.
Otherwise it kinda has no point

At least? Game Grumps isn't about knowing how to play a game, it's about Egoraptor and JonTron messing around while playing games.
The video is cut away way too much, you should make the video take the entire screen, and show the facecam if you want to relay an emotion, not constantly on or at least smaller.
I don't feel like the facecam adds much to the video, but that's only me.
Being yourself is the key to success.
Don't use facecams at all, especially for a game like Pokemon. So long as you can just relax and be yourself, the video should go well.

This might get me rated dumb, but consider taking pointers from SomethingAwful Let's Players. ResearchIndicates is a good example, as well as PsychedelicSA.
