Cop kicks religious protesters out of Mayhem Festival

For those who don't know, Mayhem Festival is a nu-metal/metalcore festival (with a few exceptions) that gets progressively shittier each year and is basically filled with scene kids and whatnot

I particularly enjoyed his atheist tirade
Was the place where they were protesting really private property? Because it looks public to me, and the amount of people in the background makes it more likely to be public. The policeman had absolutely no right to kick them out of the place if it was public, since they have a right to free speech and it is protected in any public place; no matter how crazy their ideas and beliefs may be, they still should be allowed to express it without being thrown out of a place.
But if it was private then the police had the right to move them from a private place where they were causing a disturbance to another place.
Also, the cop was far too unprofessional, taking advantage of his powers far too much and engaging in a far-to-obvious ego-trip. Second, these officers need a refresher in the judicial system, especially the man at the end who went against the right of a person to video-tape in a public zone, especially something like this. Well, there is quite a bit of controversy surrounding photographs and videos of police and whether it is allowed or not; with most of the police trying to use some legal loopholes that are inherently unconstitutional but are not labeled as such.
Basically, to understand this situation better we need to know exactly what happened. And we don't, so we can only go off what we have seen and I have stated my opinion above.
lol they think that it's public property even after being told who the owners are
ahahaha "we're not protesting"

Did you see where they were? They were in on private property next to a group of people waiting in line to get in. They exited under the archway which marked the entrance to a parking lot, which was also private property. I will agree that the officers were a bit unprofessional but they were not on public property. The owners of the event chose to have them removed and the policeman did so.
Hahahaha, I love how the cop is discussing religion with them as they are walking off the property.
The cop was a unprofessional when he ranted about how he's a non believer.
Though the christian protesters were being pushy and probably knew they were not aloud to protest there/videotape.
"What are you some gay homosexuals or something?"
BEST.COP.EVER.
Honestly though, they were on private property, they weren't in line to buy tickets, and were causing a disturbance. Although the person had the right to film, the police COULD confiscate the tape because they were filming on private property initially.
Ahh, well if it was private property than much of what the law enforcement officers was in line with legal laws. They went a bit over the board, but you can't expect them to be perfect as all humans have their flaws/prejudices; seems this officer was highly aggressive about their religion.
Yeah I must admit this officer was a bit biased. Although it's understandable how they politely asked the protesters to leave about 50 times and got frustrated, and never used force. I guess he had to take out his anger one way or the other and fortunately he did it verbally.
awesome cop
If it were reversed, and it was atheists protesting, you guys would be freaking the fuck out.
Just thought I would throw that out there, from one atheist to another.
"BEWARE POLICE STATE"
I believe they chose an accurate title.
Last years mayhem was incredible. I don't know how it became so shitty this year
If Mayhem themselves were at this festival they wouldn't need cops to get rid of these morons.

But how many atheists protest compared to religious protest groups?

I would get pissed off at the atheists if it was reversed. People protesting about stupid ass shit piss me off no matter what they believe in.
I love how they think it's perfectly legal to record and publish content of a person without their consent.
Oh and don't think I'm picking and choosing sides here, I don't want to seem biased. I just think that since the religious group were enforcing their opinions on others, the cop has the freedom to tell them his own. Although most refrain from doing so due to professionalism.
We need more cops like this during WBC shenanigans.

Doesn't matter, nobody wanted them there, the cops understood that the people attending were being bothered so he did the people a favor. Might be unfair in terms of law, but it's fair in terms for the people.
How about we stop trying to force ideas upon each other?

I'd go for Slayer and Behemoth, but it really doesn't balance out the shit.

I dunno man, Behemoth is pretty fucking good.

The big difference between this and WBC is that WBC does their stuff on public property, this was on private property where the owners can tell you to leave or shut up. The cop did not take those people out just because the people at the concert wanted them out, but because they were on that private property.

That doesn't drop out the fact that the cop knew what was up.
"Sounds like communism to me."
:buddy:
These people are here in the world mainly for annoyance and should be killed on site. Nuff said.

yes lets kill people because they are annoying
if that's the case you should be next in line
I think after some intense research and debate. I came to the conclusion that he does in fact have a right to video tape.
Having your rights and resisting arrest are two different things.

I don't think so, they were on private property so unless they had permission to film then they're not allowed.
