god... the disappointment of this game is all coming back.
god... the disappointment of this game is all coming back.
It's actually pretty fun if you know what you're doing.
It's actually pretty fun if you know what you're doing.
It would be fun if it had more launch content than A2 did at release, Which it didn't. As much as i love arma and put days of my life into playing it, A3's release was weak as fuck. I'll consider playing it if the modding community picks up the slack.
There are some pretty good mods for ArmA 3 now, you're just not looking hard enough.
you really shouldn't have to mod a game to make it fun on launch.
it's really good. they optimized the shit out of it i just wish there were better servers other than wasteland and stratis/altis life and i get shit frames playing on altis
you really shouldn't have to mod a game to make it fun on launch.
Arma is different. Everything fun about arma is the ability to customize your experience however you want to. That's not fully possible without mods. I know mods really improved my arma 2 experience by a lot, I'm sure it's the same in arma 3 once all "the big" ones are released.
it's hard for modders to do their thing when the proper arma 3 mod tools aren't out yet
I honestly don't see how arma 3 is that much different from armed assault or arma 2 besides improving on the combat mechanics, ingame performance and graphics massively. Armed Assault really didnt have a whole lot of content. ArmA 2 did, but it's performance still suffered and ArmA 3 has amazing movement controls by comparison. It's a mark improvement, could have been a bit better but it's still a big improvement on both previous titles. The faster the mods, the better. The mods are always a big part of arma/ofp
you really shouldn't have to mod a game to make it fun on launch.
Who said ArmA 3's not fun? I think it's fun, my 300 hours (most of which were spent without mods) logged on it prove that fact.
It's definitely a huge improvement from ArmA II. Also, what people fail to realise is that ArmA II did not have that much content at launch either. I do hate how ArmA III launched without mod tools or a guerilla faction, but heaps of content is being added in patches (Cool revolvers and Opfor/Blufor jets have been teased)
You've heard of ACE, right? And when this game was first available it was something like $25. Worth it
Yes of course, ARMA 2 is pretty much unplayable to me without ACE mod. The only way im going to be able to enjoy ARMA 3 is if they actually push out a proper ACE mod with as much features as the first one and use AllInArma to use old units and stuff.
Well we're about to see what the campaign is going to be like. They're going to have to add some things to make it interesting.

[editline]15th October 2013[/editline] At least it makes me feel like it wasn't a complete waste.
you really shouldn't have to mod a game to make it fun on launch.
you very clearly dont play arma or OFP then it's how it's been since the very beginning, the biggest part of the games is the mods
TBH you should've known arma 3's launch would be disappointing. then again most games are when the devs spend a sizeable amount of dev time in jail.
it was 2 devs of a 70~ ish team who were in jail for a bit over 4 month. Of course it was shit and demoralizing but it isn't like they stopped the games developement in that time.
Well. The devs that were locked up were mainly mappers. The maps are awesome so I wouldn't blame the jailing.
