UN launches inquiry into drone killings http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-21176279
I don't see how a drone strike is any different from a conventional air strike.
I don't see how a drone strike is any different from a conventional air strike.

Some kinds of drone attacks - in particular "double tap" strikes where rescuers attending a first blast become victims of a second - could constitute a war crime, Mr Emmerson has previously said, according to the Guardian newspaper.
There are also numerous psychological studies documenting the "PS3 affect" where drone operators are heavily desensitized to reckless engagement because it feels like a video game to them

One interesting phenomenon is the "whiplash effect" which is caused by the abrupt transition from warzone to living room. After flying a 12 hour shift over Afghanistan, pilots return home and this is quite a shock to their mental state. Something like half of drone pilots suffer from combat stress, a condition usually found in infantrymen. The air force has assigned psychologists to all drone squadrons, turns out pilots are at high risk of anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The high-res cameras don't leave much out.

All it says is 'militants' on that graph. Pretty sure the American military isn't a bunch of long ranged baby killers.

Fucking good thing, I don't know how it wasn't at least investigated as a war crime sooner. It's indiscriminate, context-less, and often used in excessive force. Judgement calls are made over vast distances and often result in civilian casualties in a way that would be absolutely unacceptable in any other means of waging war. I'm not saying that drones need to be outright banned, but we need to have them not be the US's 'Default weapon' against all enemies of the Western societies.

In the past 3 years the closest we got to killing a civilian was 0.7 so that's what, like a few arms and legs? Atleast he survived. Last year like a hand or something
double tap quote
Yeah it's really great that the US military is using terrorist tactics to kill people in other sovereign countries. By great I mean horrible.
All it says is 'militants' on that graph. Pretty sure the American military isn't a bunch of long ranged baby killers.
The term "militant" can be made pretty broad.
The term "militant" can be made pretty broad.
So can the term "terrorist"
