Except Steam's popular the world over and they might as well do it sometime. Sign in before the servers go down and play a game that doesn't require Steam's intervention for four hours. It's four hours.

I bet if Valve goes down and closes office, they'd also do it in a cool way and everyone would talk about how awesome it was.
If I was Valve and I went bankrupt or some corporation takes over or hijacks it, they'd go with a bang. Blow up their offices with fireworks and TNT and give all games on Steam to all Steam users and let the lawyers sort it out.
