YOU DID IT INTERNET!!! edit: as I write this they need $252,000 left for this goal, that's about 100,000 per day (earlier today they had 50 thousand less so that my guess) never the less if stretch goal 4 is reached then you'll get something similar to spore, which makes me want to empty most of my wallet for this now. If you somehow don't know what this game is click below if you interest. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/659943965/planetary-annihilation-a-next-generation-rts
I really dig the art style of this game. Really looking forward to this game. But this also poses the question. What is the last Stretch goal? Surely nothing is bigger than Galactic War than Universal War...
Yeah, after seeing this I upped my $15 early bird pledge to the $100 one.
Looks really fucking cool, I can't wait.

If it was all 3 above in that it was a homeworld total annihilation hybrid mmo, I would say shut up and take my money.
I find it funny how people were saying it'd never reach its $900,000
I find it funny how people were saying it'd never reach its $900,000
I forget what I said, but I had my doubts, especially reaching goal 3.
If only I had 20 dollars, I have a lonely 13 dollars sitting in my paypal. If it makes it's way on steam I'll get this.
Just bumped my pledge up to 50, I seriously hope it reaches this goal... I don't think it will sadly, its a real stretch.
I've seen kickstarter projects jump to their finish line and then some on the last weekend before it's over. Let's hope the metal planets come in, so that people can crash death stars into each other. come to think of it conquering the galaxy with an army of death stars in galactic mode sounds fun to do.
holy shit get this through.
They will most likely not get $620k in 7 days but I do hope they actually make that part of the game at some point or someone will make a mod for it to add the content after release.
not really sure why it takes hundreds of thousands of dollars to add like gas giants and "lava and metal" planets
not really sure why it takes hundreds of thousands of dollars to add like gas giants and "lava and metal" planets
Each stretch goal comes with planets that add not only the actual planets but also new units and stuff that has to be created and balanced, which means more time, which means more money Pretty excited for this, my bf dropped like $200 which was enough to get him a bunch of real life stuff, a copy for me, beta access and a planet named after him :v:
not really sure why it takes hundreds of thousands of dollars to add like gas giants and "lava and metal" planets
because developing stuff takes money

[editline]7th September 2012[/editline] i mean that's more than a teacher with a 4 year degree makes for an entire year. it's a lot of money, they're just being greedy as fuck
They're a full time studio making a full size studio title from scratch. Single player campaigns, as they have said, can take millions before something half decent comes from them, and thats just for the voice acting, scripting, storywriting, etc. thats not including initial engine development (from scratch btw), initial unit art, sounds, animations, scripting, balancing, everything. They're going from nothing, to a fully armed and operational battlestation, in... a year. Every new planet type they're adding is a completely different playstyle. Water planets are going to be damn near naval only, which means they have to (again from scratch) make a full set of not just naval units, but naval buildings. Gas giants? There ain't a ground to stand on, so everything has to fly. They already have air units, but now they have to get more air units, plus a full set of functioning orbital platforms that not only have to work with gas giants, but every other planet as well. Lava planets? Metal planets? One is hot as fuck and the other has the potential to be a fully armed and operational battlestation. All of this is from scratch. 900,000? Chump change for a game of this scale. 2 million for all the stretch goals? I think that is perfectly reasonable. With that being said, i need to get around to buying 2 more keys, and upping my pledge to the $100 mark as well.

Can't pledge on Kickstarter so I have to wait till it's out to buy it with paypal...
Surely nothing is bigger than Galactic War than Universal War...
hats for your commander to wear
Just pledged $150, can't wait to spend the rest of my life hunting for the planet of "GaLm" once this game is released.
This looks really good. I hope it manages to get to this stretch goal, although this is kinda something i expected to be in the game in the first place.
hats for your commander to wear
He's done it. He cracked the code. LAST STRETCH GOAL: HATS
Looks amazing.
Come on Notch.. Please!
Just reached the Gas Giants mark.

"We need a million or so to get this game going, it's a huge technical challenge" or "WITH AN EXTRA 200 THOUSAND WE'LL THROW IN MORE AIR UNITS FUCK YEAH, DONATE" The value for the stretch goals are arbitrary, they're just an incentive to get more donations, a game on this scale is not a simple RTS, they're doing from scratch something that was barely done before, it's going to take a lot of time and money to get just the base of it going. It's going to be THE RTS if they actually manage to do it, and i'm going to be surprised if they do.
it's gonna be p bad if they fail at delivering it and it comes out half assed.
it's gonna be p bad if they fail at delivering it and it comes out half assed.
don't jinux it.
