Meh. It's a possibility.
lol another character assassination
they were ingredients for lean cuisine
this is about as relevant to the incident as, idk, what trousers zimmerman had on
this trend of trying to retroactively brand people as 'bad' is fucking retarded; just accept that our entire history is basically a massive moral grey area
I really hate when people go beyond defending Zimmerman's innocence and start trying to paint Trayvon as a violent druggie, which he might have been, but it sometimes involves excessive speculation, and doesn't matter, since it was already wrong of him to attack Zimmerman for following/watching him.
The problem with character assassinations like this is that at the core, if what they're saying is true, they're basically arguing that Trayvon deserved to die because he liked drugs, or was troubled, or whatever irrelevant claim they're making.
Forgetting the accuracy of these allegations, I don't think wanting to drink "lean" warrants murder.
It's more than a possibility that he was using them for purple drank. When it was found in his system and he was texting his friends asking if they had codeine, and posting on Facebook about using it, it's pretty safe to say that he was on it. Not to mention it explains his violent behavior.

The thing is that most people see him as an innocent kid when he, in fact, wasn't.
This is pretty old news, there's a video somewhere talking about this. Text messages on his phone refer to the drug lean. Another asks if a friend is dealing in certain ingredients for different drug.

It's plenty relevant as it helps determine what mindset Trayvon might have been in and could explain why he acted as violently as he did.

I never thought of it that way actually
This is a fucking shit thing to do. The case is over, Zimmerman was found not guilty (which I agree with) but at the end of the day a young man died. Can we please just let him rest without any more attacks on his character.

Not if taking whatever he might have been taking was affecting his mental state.

People are rioting in the streets because they still think Trayvon was Martin Luther King Jr. reborn and Zimmerman is a black assassin. Honestly these people need to know more about Trayvon's character and a lot more about the case, maybe then they won't be destroying random people's property and killing mexicans they find on the street because they share half of Zimmerman's ethnicity.
Lean is sprite, codeine w/promethazine cough syrup, and jolly ranchers. Although he could have been making some sort of drink with Robitussin, tea, and skittles, it is inaccurate to say he was going to make lean because he didn't have the ingredients to do so. Regardless this is just an attempt at character assassination, it could be assumed that any combination of a drink and sugary candy was being used to make a drink, the kid is already dead might as well just leave him alone.

Robitussin contains codeine, there was a conversation he had on facebook where he said he knew a recipe for lean involving the two ingredients he was carrying that night

not anymore

oh boy he used drugs everyonce in a while, hes a criminal who needs to get put down

if an innocent kid did the things he did, then the shooting was still justified.

Drugs that specifically make you violent and paranoid
The point isn't "LOL he did drugs he deserved it" the point is "He did drugs that cause violent behavior so that's evidence that Zimmerman may be telling the truth."
The only time I have ever seen someone unironically say Trayvon deserved it was when people like LMFAO say dumb shit that they think other people are saying.
im sorry this lean thing doesnt make any sense to me
ice tea and skittles do not have any psychoactive properties, and dont mean anything so if you wanted to make "lean" you could make it out of anything as long as you have the actually psychoactive ingredient.

why are you trusting a video by some random guy lol
"Focal patchy yellow discoloration, due to mild fatty metamorphesis, is present."
lets keep in mind btw that there were no hepatologists involved with this diagnosis.
first of all he calls this LIVER DAMAGE
this is UTTERLY wrong, fatty tissue build-up does not impede liver usage and there's nothing that suggests any liver disease at all. almost all cases of fatty metamorphosis is asymptomatic and 24% of US americans have fatty metamorphosis.
http://www.fpnotebook.com/gi/Hepatitis/NnlchlcFtyLvr.htm
"consistent with excessive lean usage".
ROFL
he cites no study as evidence that this is true, because its not true. there's no LINK between usage of codeine along with phenothiazines (supposedly the two active ingredients in lean) and EXCESSIVE FATTY TISSUE BUILD UP in the liver which is what we are talking about.
http://www.drugs.com/disease-interactions/promethazine.html
In addition, the use of phenothiazines has been associated with adverse hepatic effects including cholestatic jaundice and elevated liver enzymes
cholestatic jaundice and elevated liver enzymes are not relevant to fatty tissue build up. if trayvon really took that much lean we'd see different stuff on his liver than fatty tissue build up.
and codeine has NO established harmful effect on the liver when used in the doses that we are talking about so that is also irrelevant.
what IS fatty metamorphosis consistent with?
hypercholesterolemia. relates to diet. trayvon probably like most people his age did not eat healthily. this diagnosis makes sense because its actually consistent with fatty build up.
not to mention he's black. black people in the united states are genetically and simply socially far more likely to have liver abnormalities or diabetes, which would also be a genetic cause for fatty build up.
"learn the facts"
fucking whatever dude, how about you learn the facts and not listen to some white dude on youtube. i've taken far more drugs than trayvon and i do not have fatty tissue build up. this doesn't make any sense.

Agreed, this thread is full of a lot of bullshit
Whether or not Trayvon was fucked up at the time, as far as I'm concerned Zimmerman started this whole debacle by following Trayvon and trying to confront him. Why do people seem to be skipping past this detail? I'll buy that he was defending himself, but he provoked all this, really, and now this kid is dead. Doesn't matter what his character was like, or what state of mind he was in, he was a human being walking down the fucking street. Trayvon was probably under the impression that he was defending himself, too. There needs to be some kind of reparation for that.
That being said, I don't want the man lynched and I'm not at all in agreement with people going crazy on the streets and demanding blood, that's just foul

Trayvon was the first person to break the law because he decided to start a fight. Everything Zimmerman did was perfectly legal and was actually what he was supposed to do because he was the neighborhood watch captain. Watch this, it's a better video than the one above.

I'm going off morals here, not laws. He may have been acting within the letter of the law but I don't think he was acting in the spirit of the law. He didn't need to get out of his truck and pursue him on foot despite having alerted the authorities about a suspicious person. He could just as easily have followed him from a distance in his vehicle. This "stand your ground" argument is bullshit.

Yes, Trayvon was the morally superior one because he waited for Zimmerman and beat him to the ground then slammed his head on the pavement.
Also, cars can't drive on here:

I was under the impression it occurred by a road, my mistake
I still don't think he should have gone after him. I highly doubt Trayvon got up that morning with the intent to try to kill someone that day, and likewise neither did Zimmerman, but I still think he is at some level of fault here

are we supposed to expect to be assualted for following or watching someone?
